Kind of missing WoW

Spent 3 years playing this game pretty hardcore from the release of a bit before Burning Crusades through Lich King. I was a main tank for a pretty good raid guild back in the day. I had a few max level characters. NE tank, Gnome mage, and a druid healer.
I've always loved games where you put in work and time and build up characters. WoW is the ultimate game for that. I had a few friends online that lived for the game. It was all they did. I certainly didn't want to get to that point.
Just watched a video of a hunter solo'ing Ulduar. Made me remember all the fun times I had doing those raids, of course we struggled, especially our first few runs.
My account got hacked, lost all my gear. It was kind of a blessing in disguise.
Been watching a few WoW videos and must say I miss playing it. I quit because the game just takes up too much time, especially if you're serious (and of course losing all my gear I worked years for). Brings back memories of all the different areas and bosses. Lots of reminiscing.
I'm thinking about starting up a new account and casually playing, if that even possible...
Any of you guys still play?

Is it still valid to say WoW is the ultimate casual MMO with a game like ESO on the market?
Regardless, it's more casual friendly now that in any point in its history. That's not necessarily a good thing though. The general consensus appears to be that the latest expansion is the worst in the history of the game
WoW Classic is coming out in August. You might wanna wait for that.

ESO isn't that appealing for some reason to me. I don't know much about it though.
I played Skyrim for a while, but it just didn't get me like Wow did.
Does ESO have raids and dungeons set up like WoW? 10 man/25 man, mulitple bosses in dungeon runs, loot, etc?

To me ESO takes me back to the WoW days, but I've told a few people that and they laugh at me. I've only been into ESO for a few months now, but they do have dungeons that seem like WoW dungeons to me, some are easy some require crowd control and other elements just like WoW. They have trials which are for groups of 12. There are multiple bosses in dungeons with a main boss at the end.
There are also world bosses and with the release of the latest chapter, there are now dragons flying around in Elsweyr and they aren't an easy fight.
Being that I work out of town and can only sit down to play on the weekends I enjoy it and it's a good way to kill a few hours.

I still play fairly regularly to experience the new content and mess around a bit.
I used to raid a whole lot, but over the past couple expansions it's just lost it's luster. I feel myself doing the same stuff over and over again and not getting anything from it. Started in WoD, got worse in Legion, and even worse in BFA. BFA was really fun for a couple months until I realized it wasn't going to stick with me.
I moved towards more of experiencing content like leveling both factions to see each side of the story instead of raiding multiple times a week. Which is funny because I was always raid, raid, raid all the time and min/maxing my characters.
This is going to be great. I've played a good bit of the classic beta and it has reminded me how different current retail is. The game is so much more in depth and takes effort to accomplish things, which will both attract and push players away.
I know a few people who have never played WoW before that are going to start with classic to get the experience without having to catch up to the current game.

8.2 dropped yesterday. It doesn't fix everything wrong with current WoW, but it's an improvement. The new Benthic gearing system is a million times better than the garbage Azerite gear.

City of Heroes was better.

I play some but Not seriously like back in vanilla/BC. 8.2 is a step up.
I will probably play classic a good bit. I leveled to 15 on Beta and I forgot how good the progression feels. It’s definitely as difficult as we remember but you feel a true sense of payoff for your time.
Hopefully Blizz is learning from the classic hype and 9.0 will bring back some of the fundamental that made wow great.
It will never have 12 Million subs again but 4-5 million will still be a highly populated game.

This 100%. I stopped at 30 in the beta because I want to save the later zones for live servers. It's much more of a grind but it's so much more rewarding.
ETA: I haven't played much of 8.2. It hasn't gotten me sucked in yet, but all it's going to take is one sit down for a couple hours and I'll be into it again for a few months then it'll fizzle out.

I've played a fair amount. Mechagon is pretty awesome; I'm not a fan of Nazjatar.
Nazjatar does make it extremely easy to get iLVL 385 gear.

That's really the main thing I'm waiting for with Classic. I want the progress to actually amount to a lasting experience instead of getting soft reset every 3 months.

You should check out Second Life.

I have over 2 days played in the beta and only level 30. I could have leveled a fresh character to 120 and geared on live servers by now.

I need to just make time and do it then. I'll probably enjoy it once I get going.

When does the Mechagon stuff start? I'm probably in the early stages/middle of Nazjatar. I noticed I hadn't seen anything about Mechagon so I figured I needed to finish Naz stuff first.
It's so strange being lost in WoW. I used to play every day and not feel so confused on what to do. It's sad times.

It's a few quests into Nazjatar. You should get a quest to go back to Boralus.

I still do mythic + a good bit and once classic comes out I'll be playing that probably exclusively raiding again and a good bit of world pvp. Hoping the gaming forum can get a solid turn out for it.

I walked away from wow back in 2011 but have always missed it and thought about getting back into it. Just this passed week i created an account to play the free character to lvl 20 just to see how it was again. Really thinking about jumping back it but may wait for classic being everyone has always talked about that being the glory days.
