Why Correa in the 6 hole?
Genuine question. Curious as to why you would put him there
MLB will inevitably figure Alvarez out. I understand that he’s off to a good start, but he will falter some. It’s happened to probably every rookie known to man in MLB. I think Alavarez will be amazing, no doubt, but my point is that I just can’t trust a 21 year old rookie. Especially in the playoffs.

Carlos is doing it his way. He's had enough of lunhow ball.

Correa was a 21 year old rookie in the playoffs hitting 4th. Did you trust him then?

Lineup protection for a rookie makes a lot of sense when you think of it that way. No one is pitching around Yordan to get to Correa if the latter is playing well.

Correa has worn out his welcome. It should be obvious that he and the Astros are at odds.
The Bregman extension sealed the deal. Both have moved on.
Springer will be signed. Correa may get dealt with some remaining control, like this trade deadline.
Would not surprise me, but I do think we need him healthy to win the WS this year.

Nope. I didn’t trust him and he became an exception, not the rule. Cody Berlinger hit .147 in the WS with a massive amount of K’s.
See how pointing out ONE example every argument works out? Are you saying that all rookies play like veterans in their first years? Or the majority of players struggle a bit before trending back up to a solid contributor.
All I’m saying is that a few seem to be forgetting about the walls rookies eventually run into in their first year. I’m just trying to remind people that it’s coming.

Check your meds old man. No way they are trading Correa THIS deadline.

We all understand the cycle of adjustments rookies have to make as the league adjusts to them. Yordan has an advanced approach and presents a tremendous threat that Brantley doesn't pose to hit it out to any field at any park at any time.
Your example of bellinger is a good one. You have to evaluate each player separately. We shall see how it unfolds but I don't see him getting anything to hit with the slapnuts crew batting behind him.

I don’t expect him to sign here long term, but the scenario in which it would make sense to trade Correa is so incredibly unlikely to arise. They aren’t dealing him for prospects and effectively making their major league roster worse while they have a window for contention open. Maybe at the deadline before he’s a FA if they’re out of contention.
So you have to have a scenario where another team is so deep at the ML level at an Astros position of need and also needs a shortstop, and is willing to trade from the ML roster at that position.

Degrom and alonso and Lugo would make my ears perk up.

That relationship is deteriorating faster than a Tyler White meal is consumed.
To say Correa’s, Hinch’s, and Luhnow’s comments since Correa’s first missed game have been peculiar is definitely an understatement.
These phantom, recurring injuries are beginning to appear more related to the team’s lack of commitment to him, so he’s gonna show the team how committed he is to them.
Something’s rotten in Denmark, whippersnapper

I’m 100% agreeing with Ryro on this particular post.

I also immediately thought of the Mets as a trade partner.

The DAT has zero room for this kind of negativity

He makes good points and I won’t argue them except this.....
There’s not a manager in the league that’s going to walk anyone to get to Brantley. He may not hit it out, but pitchers don’t want to face one of the best hitters in the league. I’d be willing to bet, AT THIS POINT, who would you rather face in the playoffs with the winning run on 2nd?
Yordan Alvarez or Michael Brantley?

And we all thought that 7 HRs and 16 RBIs faster than any other MLB player EVER was sustainable! LOL
Posted on 6/25/19 at 5:35 pm to wahoocs
Well, you’re quick to keep him in the 4 hole based off what’s he’s done so far .....
Posted on 6/25/19 at 5:39 pm to Prominentwon
I see your perspective, there is a lot of baseball left to be played this season and they will evaluate as it goes. Other than Springer hitting leadoff he can move all of them around in the order and he may donit based on pitching matchups.
Hopefully everyone is healthy when it counts.

Nah, but 6 is too low
I would consider lefty-righty some, but protection more so
I still think we give some production away with Springer leadoff, but his K/BB ratio has improved enough, and we are never going to have a running
game, so it works
I do think Correa is going to be behind him. They’re not going to do Correa any favors. That die is cast

He's a piece of shite, so I don't give a rat's arse how committed they are to him. He proved he was about himself by pulling out a "marriage proposal" stunt the night the Astros win their first World Series.
