Hi there lsu folks! We Georgia southern fans are excited to make the trip to Baton Rouge and to experience your game day traditions and of course the tailgate scene. Few questions for you guys..

My crew and I are rolling into new Orleans Thursday then will head over to Baton Rouge Friday to walk around the campus. What are some key areas to see to experience the most of our trip. Good restaurants to hit, bars etc. Definitely going by the baseball stadium to see that.

Now to game day! We have our tickets but curious best place to park and walk to your best tailgate spots. Gsu is having a tailgate but we have no desire to hangout with our fans, the best times are meeting and sharing a beer with the opposing teams. We plan on parking and bringing our coolers to join up with some of you nice cajun folks. So if anyone has room at their tailgates and wants some of Eagle Nation to join you please let me know ??. We will be beer, jack fire, food and whatever else.

Thanks for any feedback and really excited to be at lsu for a game.

“Piss Balloons” are a real thing.

If you don’t know about them yet, you will.

Have a nice day.

Just take the initial ribbing like a good sport and we will take care of you. It's our thing...your alcohol will be most welcome.

We had a thread on this from another soon to be visiting opposing team fan. I'll look for it.

edit: found it

LINK

It was for baseball but still some good recommendations if you can filter through the bs.

Chimes for dinner on Friday night. Followed by a trip to Fred’s in Tigerland for free drinks.

Thank me later.

Appreciate the feedback fellas and I can take the ribbing for sure. My crew is heading in from Atlanta and have plenty of alcohol with us just not bringing the big grill.

You already have your hotel? Downtown? Chimes on Highland close to the stadium is a must like was said earlier. Great seafood and atmosphere. All visiting fans have said they have a great time there and the food is awesome.

For Friday, walk to see Mike the Tiger's Habitat right by the stadium. Drive down Highland Road to the LSU Parker Agricultural Coliseum, it's where Pete Maravich played before the new Assembly Center was built.

LSU has lost its tradition. You should have come to BR 15 years ago.

Depending on your age, this is the correct answer. If you're in college or not too far removed from college, Fred's for free drinks needs to happen.

No disrespect to the OP but as I read the title I had no clue who this was but congrats your university picks up a nice paycheck and gets their asses whipped. Sounds like a win-win to me!!!

Honestly you could roll up with nothing but yourself and the majority of our fans will greet you with a beer and good arse food so don't sweat

I’d skip the Ag center, there is nothing to see there that speaks Maravich and it’s a long walk. Go to the Andonie Museum and see LSU’s athletics history and as you said, the baseball stadium and the museum there.
There will be tailgating everywhere, especially between the baseball stadium towards Tiger Stadium.

Not our traditional flex triple option that we ran in the 80s and 90s with paul Johnson or in 2011 when we racked up 300+ yards against Bama or in 2013 when we beat the Florida Gators. We now run a triple option out of a pistol set. Still lots of motion and we run 90% of the time.

Blackened alligator sounds great and will be trying it. As for our ages, we are mid 40s so not sure about Fred's ha. Back when we were in 1aa we played mcneese state in 2004 and a few of us flew into Houston and drove over to lake Charles. Enjoyed their tailgate in terms of food but that was it. We tailgate well at GSU and looking forward to getting rowdy with you all.
