LSU literally ran out of DBs if you want to go that route

Joey B has been and will be a great leader on offense. He has everything going for him this year will so much room to get better. Coming from a considerably young Tiger football fan Burrow has been my favorite LSU QB to watch!

You could put Franks, Mond, and Burrow in one of the those lottery ball popping machines. There isn't much difference in their rate production:
QB A: 57.8%, 7.6 YPA, 133.21 RAT
QB B: 58.4%, 7.6 YPA. 143.34 RAT
QB C: 57.3%, 7.5 YPA, 134.98 RAT
...and they all averaged 3.2 yards per carry rushing. There's not much separating the group, statistically. Yet Mond is the one getting tons of hype, and I don't see how he's any different save a year younger.
And before we play the quality of comp card, let's use their SEC stats only:
QB A: 57.6%, 7.0 YPA, 123.72 RAT
QB B: 56.0%, 6.9 YPA, 124.69 RAT
QB C: 56.1% 7.0 YPA, 126.57 RAT
The numbers go slightly down, of course, as they don't get to pad their numbers against Directional State, but they all have essentially the same yards/att and a QB Rating within 3 points of each other. And QB A has a slight advantage in accuracy.
If you're curious, the quarterbacks were in alphabetical order: QB A is Burrow, QB B is Franks, and QB C is Mond.

I'll tell you the frick what...
Nationally, State was:
#1 in Total Defense
#2 in Scoring Defense
#2 in Rush Defense
#2 Pass Eff. Defense
#3 3rd Down Conv. Defense

What about the win against Georgia?

Does 3 and out impact your defense? Does getting behind impact your offense? You’re the dumbass.
Milton was a Heisman contender until he broke his leg.
BTW - Good Ole Memphis put up a shitload of points against that putrid defense.
So much stupidity in here.

My first thought when I read your posts
We were playing scrubs as DB if you want to go that routes

Yep. And Dave still shut down that high-scoring offense.

And we doubled their Ppg allowed
2nd best passing performance ever by an LSU QB

Sure was. I'm expecting BIG numbers out of Jeaux this year.

Yep Mettenberger did that in his second year as a starter. With Odell and Jarvis. We had a very good offense and a very average defense

All that means is that Mond and Franks are also top 5 QBs in the country.
Damn, out of the group Franks is the one with the 143.34 rating. He may actually be the best QB in the country.

He proved he is a tough sob and can keep his cool under pressure. That alone is worth a lot.
Hopefully he doesn’t get run 20 times a game again this season tho. Getting hit that many times had to have thrown him off a bit.

Burrow had an entirely mediocre season at best in 2018.
#4 returning QB in the SEC per PFF
The OL and receivers to an extent really let down what was pretty good QBing overall.
People for whatever reason like to forget the huge impact an OL and receivers can have on a "QB's performance". The RBs for that matter too.
For instance Franks' numbers are slightly better overall but his OL was worldly better than ours and it wasn't even close. They also had much better RBs with a ground game that didn't stink.

that ATM game though...by that point ATM wanted it more.

Offense did not "explode." UCF was overrated with a 3rd tier defense.
The offense definitely exploded. Idc what defenses we faced later in the year, teams such as southeastern gave our offense trouble early in the year.
You gonna try to tell me that beating up on bad defenses isn’t better than barely moving the ball on bad defenses?

I think JB has the body size to take the hits. The crackback against UCF on the INT was a helluva block and million to one blindside.

quote:DBU against a shitty team. A shitty team that couldn’t block a defensive lineman. A shitty team had Milton played and got the ball out in less than two seconds would’ve put up 50 fricking points. Yeah we can go down a path. When the other team has the ball, that means that the LSU offense doesn’t get the fricking ball. Do you understand?

Hence, why I said that bowl game didnt matter - throw it out. What mattered was the last three games of the season against SEC competition. Rice doesn’t matter. You’re judged against your peers.
Again, my response was to the OP about how much better Burrow played in the back end of the season. It wasn’t about anything else. The stats prove Lsu did not play any better during that time on offense than they did any other time during the season. You have to look at the matchup to the opponent’s defense like Alabama being ranked 33rd pass defense. Yes you supposed to pass better against them. That was the game plan. I gave the stats in my very first response to the OP. You could argue that LSU was better against UGA and MSU then TAMU and Bama on offense

When was the last time an LSU QB threw for 395 yards against any competition?
