Update:

The U.S. men's national team will be without 20-year-old phenom Tyler Adams due to a nagging injury he picked up during the Bundesliga season. Fox Sports lead Gold Cup game analyst Stu Holden breaks down how this will impact Gregg Berhalter's side co

Adams may be allowed to rest for upcoming preseason.

According to multiple sources, FC Dallas right back Reggie Cannon was yesterday called into the US Men's National Team Gold Cup roster. In order to be added at this time, Cannon has to be an injury replacement for someone in the original 23 man roster. A player may be replaced on the roster up to 24 hours prior to a team's first match of the group phase in the case of injury. But that player has to have been on the 40-man preliminary roster, which Cannon was. Update 11:30 am Tuesday: Cannon not at FCD training today.

Nothing concrete yet on this being connected to Tyler Adams, but rumors flying.

Yes, bringing in a player at RB looks like they're moving someone out or losing someone in that position.

What if Berhalter is moving Adams to CM at the "#6" role because our other players haven't impressed?

We've already finalized the roster. I think the only way we can bring a new person in is if someone on the roster is injured. If Adams is still on the roster, then someone else is injured.

Welp. In the last 7 days, my excitement for the Gold Cup has gone from a 7 to a 1.

It’s so frustrating that McKennie, Pulisic, and Adams are never healthy at the same time. They’re gonna be the core of our team for a while, and they haven’t had much opportunity to build any chemistry together.

Jesus Christ. I kind of don’t even want to watch now.

Maybe pulisic can pull out too, so he won’t get hurt.

US Soccer says he has acute chronic groin issues that will require a minimum of 6-8 week recovery period.

That’s the same shite that kept him sidelined st the end of the year yeah? That’s two months. That will basically have him out right until the start of the season.

I think so. He managed to come back before the end of the season, but I don't think he looked that good.

Yeah. Hopefully he can rest, and completely fix the issue, because I don’t want to be deprived of watching him play next season. That stretch he had before his injury was fun to watch.

And he could use a break. He's played about 13 months straight without a break of more than ~3 weeks (at least not due to injury).

At least we haven’t built our entire system around one guy playing a RB/CDM hybrid role

Not that it was happening this time around anyways, but at least we tried to win in previous iterations of this tournament and halfway qualify for the Confed Cup in the past.

Is confederations Cup 2021 even a thing?

At this point my preferred lineup would be this, with Regie Cannon at right back
