Hypothetical... better futures for LA, NY or NO?

It seems like the Pelicans are trending up, while the Nicks and Lakers are trending down.

I realize NY and LA are big market teams, but it's hard for me to see them being successful or even a fun place to play.

Thoughts?

I see NY and LA as inherently fricked due to their ownership and front offices.

They may be able to overcome that and win but they have a LOT of experience fricking up to fall back on.

Our front office? Gayle is trying, Griffin won the only title in Cavs’ history, Langdon turned around a horrible Nets franchise, etc. And we have Zion.

Lakers will have a ton of cap with everyone in the league wanting to play for them.

Sure.

I think it is far more likely that, if they strike out on AD, they only end up with fourth or fifth tier FAs like Cousins and Kemba.

Most of their top targets are either staying put or have made it clear they don’t want to be Robin to LeBron’s Batman.

Kyrie is the only player in the top three tiers I can see going to LA but he could just as easily go to NY, go to Brooklyn, or stay in Boston.

I see a lot of teams with cap room this offseason and not as many players testing the waters as was thought a month or two ago, meaning someone will come up short. And the dysfunction of LA shown this past six months will handicap their chances at big game hunting unless they get AD.

Kyrie in LA would be a good fit with his history of mental illness.

Lol people wanting to play for them is the biggest myth in the NBA next to NY being the "mecca" of basketball

Do you think trade gets done before the draft? If not when? Opinion of course!
