The fact that you and several others have even suggested that that was an option is insane.
We only bring it up to the morons who say pitching to Martin was worse than pitching to Mendoza.
Again bro, please try and keep up.
ETA: It’s a simple scorched earth rebuttal to the idiots saying Martin is a better hitter than Mendoza. Jesus.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

So they both struck out the same over 30 games? And the other 30 we do what with?

Not pitch to the one who’s a 3rd round pick for his bat......

You do realize freshmen are not draft eligible, right?

Let that sink in.

So Martin wasn’t a 3rd draft pick?
Yeah, I’ve said that.

Setup the force out at any base. Regardless who is up it is just more sound logic to take stress off the entire infield by having a force out everywhere. At least that’s my take. Mendoza or Martin who cares setup the force outs to give a higher percentage chance of closing out the inning.

Why bring it up at all? It’s simply not a viable option. There is no coach above the high school level that would think walking the bases loaded in that situation is the right call. Just state why you think walking Mendoza to pitch to Martin was the right decision.

Because you have people arguing that pitching to Mendonza was the right call.
How does this have to be explained to you? Do you not understand the concept of a scorched earth rebuttal?

Right, but Fontenot had struck out something like 12 of the 24 batters he faced, including Mendoza.
Career-high in strikeouts, also a career-high in pitches. You're putting the fate of the season on your worn-out reliever facing their absolute best hitter. And you don't have to. We deserved to lose for all the dumbass mistakes we made, but this was by far the worst.

So, to criticize the decision to pitch to Mendoza you suggest an even worse decision to walk the bases loaded? That makes zero sense.

Done and done.
Now, go check Lester Earl’s posts from multiple threads to understand why that crazy option was given. He, and several others, are arguing that it was the correct decision to pitch to Mendonza.
If you can’t grasp the reason for that pot by now, God help you. Thanks.

Geezus. What does that guy coaching third actually do?
Wasn’t that 3B coach a pitcher in his day ?

Sarcasm has no place in fresh post season second-guessing.
But seriously...that 3rd base coach...

I’ve seen his posts. It weakens your position to suggest something that no coach would ever do and frankly makes it look like you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
Pitching to Mendoza is probably the wrong call, but walking the bases loaded is infinitely worse.

Nolan Cain. I believe he coaches the catchers as well.

You’re stuck on semantics and I’m done with you.
“Scorched earth”. You seriously need to look this up.

What semantics? You (and a few others) have now very clearly suggested several times that walking the bases loaded was a viable option. You then suggested that putting the winning run on third isn’t an issue as long as your catcher can catch the ball. That’s completely asinine for the reasons I’ve already pointed out.
