A switch from serious to trival for comedic effect. It gets old. They overuse it. Especially since GotG.
This video made me watch Marvel movies in a different light. I noticed the cheap laughs way more than I did before in Marvel.
LINK
Such a dumb video.
1) This isn't really a movie thing. Comics have always used humor to balance "Serious" situations. From ridiculous villain one liners, to snappy comebacks and retorts from heroes, to overly dramatic poses and language. The classic medium of comics - of which the MCU is mostly trying to be. THe MCU is not Alan Moore - is rife with humor in nearly every situation.
2) Even if one could argue that there "is too much" in some films, Endgame kept it mostly balanced. The first 30 minutes of the film is pretty much devoid of out loud humor. Serious scenes like Stark Dying, Thor's failure, Scott realizing where he is, Cap and Widow's banter, make up that entire portion. And even in the rest of the film, most of the heavy moments - Nebula's betrayal, Widow's Death, Tony's death, etc. are all played straight.
3) If every super film were like The Dark Knight.... ugh. That would be boring. At least Tony enjoys being Iron Man, and sees purpose in it.

I agree. We’ve seen dark and gritty and dreary. The MCU method is superior, and the box office numbers show this.
I agree it might be weird to shove the X-men into the Avengers universe at this stage. I wouldn’t mind keeping the X-men world separate from the avengers world. I just want good X-men movies.

1). Not every comic is that way, a good bit of them including in the MCU play it straight and go into cheese mode.
2) Endgame was better for it.
3) Every movie doesn’t have to be that way, but overuse of Bathos doesn’t need to happen in most MCU movies. Some characters/groups work better with it. Some could use a lot less.

MCU method is more successful for a lot of reasons outside of the humor. Good actors for the role and good stories far outweigh the humor. Something other franchises have lacked. Batman did amazing when they had these going for them.

I think Hugh Jackman will prove easily replaceable. You just need a stocky, ruddy, belligerent guy.
Sure, if you want a bad Wolverine. Hiring Hugh Jackman was the coup that kept the franchise alive. You think casting that serendipitous is "easy"? I think if it were, we'd have many more iconic x-men characters in the mainstream pop-culture.

Easy solution. Mutations occur to those that were snapped. That or the alien invasion caused it.

Though this was pretty much the major rumor for explaining introing the XMen? People snapped by infinity stones exposed to “cosmic radiation” of a sort. Didn’t Banner say Gamma radiation was a big thing post snap? Or at least, gamma radiation from using the gauntlet.
That and fricking up things with their use of time travel. Pretty easy tbh.

Good point. I just don’t assume Marvel will turn X-men into a comedy. We’ll certainly see the better casting and better stories you just mentioned.

Yeah that’s the idea I’ve heard and that’s work. I guess for me, as an X-men comic reader from the 80-90s, it’d seem weird to introduce them now in the present day.

Yes, I do think casting Wolverine will be easy. Marvel has a phenomenal record of great casting. There’s nothing about the character of Wolverine that’ll make it hard to cast. He’s a short stocky dude who loves to fight. Find a muscular white guy who can growl. That goes for all the X-men. Marvel will cast them all just fine.

The new trailer for Far From Home says Mysterio is from an alternate dimension. Peter specifically mentions that the multiverse is a real thing now. I'm guessing that's how they'll introduce the X-Men.
