Talk about turning something from BAD to WORSE. Who’d you have in mind for this task? The United Nations? Are these the same “top scientists” that have been arguing for gov’t controls on the economy of the world in the name of climate change?
I think he was talking about the ACOE

Then we should blow all the levees in Mississippi along the east bank of river as well
Its only fair
If we are talking fair, wouldn't blowing the levees on both sides be a little more even? or when you think fair, you just assume to screw one side

frick them unless their solution is to blow a hole in their side of the levee and flood their state. Our seafood industry is in the same boat

I thibk he was referring to USACE.

If you blow them in North Louisiana and Mississippi, nothing of value will really be lost anyway

Leave it open and rebuild manchac swamp
Posted on 6/2/19 at 5:47 pm to prplhze2000
Doesn't the Mississippi drain about half the state of Mississippi?
Just look at it as if we are giving them their water back.

The Manchac swamp used to “build”when Bayou Manchac was open to the river. Not sure if too much silt makes it back to the swamp from the spillway.

It made the Amite slow to drain this last flood. The water level has been running a bit higher than it's usual too.
Posted on 6/2/19 at 6:14 pm to Bigfishchoupique
Yea i mean open it all back up. Let it flow
Posted on 6/2/19 at 6:55 pm to jimjackandjose
Can you imagine how the woods, swamp and marsh looked 200 years ago? . When oak trees grew on all the major bayous to the Gulf . Must have been something to see.

Then let Mississippi blow their barrier islands so the critters can get to the salt water, since the Gulf of Mexico is so hard to find, being so small.....

Yeah, lets potentially kill a few hundred thousand people and destroy billions of dollars worth of property to protect a few oyster fisherman. Yeah, that sounds like. good idea
