Vs

“We weren’t there.”

“Your friend, the Usurper, would lie beneath the ground if we had been”

It is like D&D thought the audience was too stupid to understand what was being said in the original dialogue.

I mean, are D&D wrong? Vast majority think Dany's real name is Khaleesi and don't know basic character names that have been said 1000 times.

Well Tower of Joy is probably the runaway winner when it comes to a single scene.

But the real winner here is everything Dorne.

Tower of Joy is the only correct answer. They could have lifted the dialogue from the book 100% and it would've been the best scene in the entire 8 seasons. "Woe to the usurper if we had been" is the best line in the books and D&D butchered it.

Really good stuff. Also the narrator for the audio version did a great job in the YouTube videos showing the audio book version of the Tower of Joy dream.

Broken Men speech.

I never saw a king, and never earned a penny. But, there was war.

For my part, I thought the complete exclusion of the Bloody Mummers from the show was an odd choice. They played a critical role in the books, and without them, other characters had to step in to fill their shoes and drive the plot. Vargo Hoat would have been a neat, if disgusting, character to see brought to life.

Brave Companions were 100% adapted and included in the show.

Were they really? It’s been a long time since I watched the earlier seasons, but I didn’t remember them being present at all. At the very least I don’t recall them playing anywhere near the important role to the plot that they did in the books.

They weren't as important. The whole war in the riverlands was really downplayed compared to the books. I would have loved to see that fleshed out more.

I mean...they captured Jaime and Brienne, attempted to rape Brienne, cut off Jaime’s hand, made Jaime drink horse piss, brought them to Roose Bolton at Harrenhall, made Brienne fight the bear, and then they/Locke spent time at both Winterfell and Castle Black... The show very clearly had an adaptation of the Brave Companions/Vargo Hoat in Locke and his men.

Why would they change the Bloody Murmers and not do Vargo Hoat properly?

That dude was a joke and is nothing like Hoat.

The Murmers were basically a walking psycho carnival.

Show did a terrible job with them.
