Not saying I’m a baller but I know baseball. SC changes their pitcher and he throws 3 straight balls... and beloso freaking pops one to the infield. Unacceptable. This team doesn’t do the easy stuff to win games.

Looked like he missed a signal, but yeah, pretty inexcusable.

That inning could have blown the game open if not for that.

His job is to take that fricking bat off his shoulder an try to put the ball in play when he’s at the plate. If he deems a pitch hitable, then swing that stick.

And what if he put that ball in the trees? Would you still be mad at the 3-0 green light?

I'd love to see the whole team work the pitch count up, not just Reid... It defeats the purpose if everyone doesnt do it.

Hughes gotta shake out of his fielding funk... Not good enough behind the plate to stay on the field if not

100% correct but you can't tell the wizards on this board anything. I swear this board has to be at least 50% Jr High and High School age kids.

LSU needs a hitting coach because we don't have one.

Yeah Beloso has done that before an it annoyed me so much. I’m not watching this game atm so I don’t know the count.

I would always want my team to take the next two pitches if it’s a 3-0 count.

I think the 3–0 green light is underrated. The pitcher “knows” the batter isn’t swinging ...so he just grooves a meatball down the middle. Then on the 3-1 count he “knows” he’ll be swinging at anything close...so he can use that to his advantage. The best or “easiest” pitch to hit is on the 3-0 pitch by far.

You must be new to watching CPM's Team. Every year he let's a batter or two in the lineup swing at 3-0. At times I recall these getting the same greenlight: Rhymes, Bregman, Kramer. It's because he's hot as frick right now and it's what CPM does because 3-0 is almost always a meatball for an easy hit.
Let me know if Reid ever swings at a 3-0.

Taking a 3-0 pitch is conventional wisdom and one of those "cardinal rules" of baseball. The game has changed. It's perfecty acceptable to trust a good hitter to swing on 3-0 if it is a fastball and it is in the hitter's preferred location. It's usually the best pitch a hitter is going to get.
