O was named head coach in November 2016. Signing day for the 2017 class was February 2017. O was head coach for three months prior to signing day, acting head coach going back further
So you agree, that wasn't really his class, it was practically done when he took over full time.

Maybe O don’t take shite. Did you see Joseph at rap concert on Twitter. Looked like trouble. Still love the kid and thankful he chose good guys but we all choose our lifestyles. Always a Tiger!

I'm fine with that as long as we're comparing apples to apples. O's 2017 class would be comparable to Miles' 2005 class and O's 2018 class would be comparable to Miles' 2006 class.
ETA: NOT turning this into a Miles-O debate. Let's stick to analyzing the 2018 class.

We'll see what happens with Joseph, but it's not really a weak class getting weaker...It's more a weak class where the weak links are falling out.
You mean links that probably we really reached for because it wasn't a good class. And we've lost Cotton and now Joseph from it, 2 of the higher rated players as well.

There are also 3 studs (Chase, Marshall & Hines) and a lot of guys who could end up being really good.
You can say this, plus more, about ANY class. Fact is, 2018 class is appearing to be a very weak class overall. Also, calling Hines a "stud" right now is way way way premature, maybe even Marshall, but benefit of the ranking doubt for now (and starting spot he has taken, at least).

I understand, but he was trying to use Miles' first class in 2005 as a comparison, and that bust of a class came in his literal first class that he had three months to keep together/finish.
Fair enough

Do y'all think the coaches follow their social media?
They have minions who keep track of all that - and post here to fit whatever narrative they’re told to advance.

quote:C'mon man you know that the "rapper" lifestyle can be difficult at times. You do know Gangbangers have played football before right, even at LSU. And momma always said who you associate yourself with tells a lot about yourself.
urely this means that Kelvin is wrapped up in the fast-paced "gangster" lifestyle!

He was on stage at a concert for a rapper that he and many other young people like, which rapper happens to have been shot at. That of course means Kelvin is a no good thug gangster and that is why he entered the transfer portal. You can't deny this!

This is why we are having arguments about how many dL do we take over OL. Now we are moving second string dbu’s off the team to make room for guys that don’t play.
Irresponsible offers at other positions.
This is a pretty ignorant take. Scholarships are renewed on an ANNUAL basis. The staff is not forced to keep ANY one player on scholly from year to year. They are fully authorized to cut dead weight when/where needed.
ETA: for those not following the full thought, this does NOT refer to Joseph, but to the ones dstone was referring to: TE, underperforming OL/DL

The reason there are quotation marks around “rapper” is because his music is extreme buttttttttttttt. His flo is terrible. Zero shot at becoming rapper.
Gang life though might be his destiny if he can’t get it straight on the gridiron. He LOVES talking about it. (It’s not where you expect a professional athlete’s head to be.) I’d be shocked if he makes it. Pulling for him though.

It's not so much the fact of what he did (even though that was bad enough), it was more the way he treated the police and coaches when questioned about the incident. Let's just say he earned this dismissal...
