I don’t ever see Smart taking about gang life. He probably cares about his future.

I figured it was related to something along those lines. He wouldn’t be kicked off the team just for going to a concert. Kids have very little respect for authority these days and it bit Joseph in the arse.

I agree with Damone on the 2018 signing class belonging to O.

O closed the 2017 class well and was a big reason why he was hired (to keep that class together), but I consider the 2018 class O's.

LSU can survive losing Joseph but it sucks.

Surely this means that Kelvin is wrapped up in the fast-paced "gangster" lifestyle! Good riddance!!!1

As much as some are reaching, apparently this is about him associating with that crowd and wanting to be a rapper on the side. Reading between the lines from a couple different places Joseph wants to keep up with his boys from Scotlandville and wasn't too happy when coaches told him that had to stop.

Things can always change obviously, but I'd be more suprising than not at this point.

Giving the players options the end?? Ok

Just wait until a group of players organize and threaten a mass transfer if their wishes are not met. I am not against a player transferring but just letting the do it for no reason is a recipe for disaster.

You act like that's any different than the way it's been. What was stopping players from doing that before the transfer portal?

The only thing that's allowed now is the communication between the player and other schools before transferring. They'd still have to sit out a year if they haven't graduated, unless there's something I'm missing.

They are fully authorized to cut dead weight when/where needed.

How they doing on that?

I wouldn’t call Joseph and cotton dead weight. Different circumstances For each I know.

And we've lost Cotton and now Joseph from it, 2 of the higher rated players as well.

Yeah. You're right. It was a weak class that's getting weaker.

If my dream was to make it in NFL, you wouldn’t catch me hanging out with any of those fools in my spare time. He picked the wrong hobby.

I could see this bubbling up last year mid-season.

It's not so much the fact of what he did (even though that was bad enough), it was more the way he treated the police and coaches when questioned about the incident. Let's just say he earned this dismissal...

This can't be true. I heard Joseph leaving was just a way to make room for more mediocre tight ends.

That's not really how kids think.

A lot of elite athletes have an entitlement issue, you know because grown men make up messaging boards that rant and rave about how awesome they are, and people all around them that want something from them tell them how awesome they are.

If you're young that can give you the feeling that you can get away with anything. Some get lost in the sauce so to speak. It takes a special quality not to get sidetracked.

Damn. I had high hopes for this kid. Obviously, though, it says a lot about our current DB squad. We got some STUDS on this team.

I get that the cards are stacked against him from the start. Definitely missing quality role models in his life. Sucks that he is whiffing on his opportunity of a lifetime.

I don’t like this current landscape of college football. Back in the day a player would commit to represent the university whether they played a lot or not. Seems like college football is merely an NFL developmental league and players just want playing time and no school loyalty.

It's amazing how some like you immediately turn on the coach without knowing didley shitt yourself.
