re: For those who are pro choice: At what point do you feel a fetus becomes a human being?

I am a physician that studied embryology as well. Life starts at conception. Sure some don’t make it due to defects. Some don’t make it outside the womb long due to defects as well. It was still human life.

More than half of the fertilizations do not go on to a live birth, that is even without elective abortions.
I feel like this doesn't get discussed enough. For the record, I'm definitely more in the undecided camp on early stage abortions.
I hear people say that God or Allah or whatever compels them to believe that life begins at conception. However, it would seem strange that so many of those conceived do not actually pull through. It's weird to think that God would intend for that to happen, but then also feel as though mothers shouldn't have any say.

It’s a developing human at the moment of conception. This making it human at conception.

I hear ya, but it's not just some. It's most. Don't you find that strange?
From a religious standpoint, I just find it hard to wrap my head around there being a God that created an environment in which most conceptions do not result in humans.

18 weeks.

If Human Life begins at the moment of Conception, then for those embryos that spontaneously about in the first few weeks of development and are just a "late period", do we give every tampon the Rite of Christian Burial?

This isn’t complicated.
Life begins at conception. If it didn’t then the embryo wouldn’t grow if left alone. If you terminate something that’s living and growing that’s called murder I don’t care if you call it a speck, embryo, fetus, baby, etc.
So it doesn’t matter when you consider it to be human being. The question is when is it alive? conception.
But then you have those people who say what if you’re raped? Take the plan B pill IMMEDIATELY and you won’t have anything to worry about. You will prevent fertilization of the egg.

That rape of a teenager. I'm not sure where I stand on anyone over 18 being raped and having abortions.

Exactly. You oppose abortions after 18 weeks. Why not after 12 weeks?

I believe the heartbeat is the threshold. Life ends when the heart and brain activity cease, so I think we can use the same logic to determine when life begins.

It's more than "inconvenient" to be pregnant for 9 months with a baby put inside of you against your will. It's physically, psychologically, and financially taxing. Some women are never the same afterwards. It is impossible to predict at the onset of the pregnancy.
Convenience? C'mon dude

I don't know that's why I am asking. Why did an all-powerful God decide that most of those conceived would never be born?

Zero relevance to the thread and a lazy lazy post. Do better.

Sorry, I just think it's ridiculous to say that giving birth to the baby of a rapist is merely "inconvenient."
