I got them to toss in the roof rails for my kayak.
We are the only moss green Telluride in Alabama, and the first Telluride with roof rails.

We do not have one, but looked at some when car shopping. Very good looking cars. Honestly, Kia gives you excellent value. We went with the smaller SUV from Kia (Sportage) as we got a phenomenal deal on it and we didn't need as much space as the Telluride provided. If we needed a larger vehicle, hands down would have the Telluride as a front runner.

Just ordered a moss green SX today. Should be here Thursday.

I preface with I have a '12 Cayenne S, '18 Macan, '15 4Runner. I test drove the Telluride for a day. I was intrigued after seeing the super bowl ad for the car. Upon dropping the car off I put a deposit on the package I wanted. The SUV drove very well, is very comfortable, has all the bells and whistles I need to get through the day and on a drive. I was hesitant about the "KIA" badge because the car is associated with budget/value autos. The build quality of the car really blew me away. The car is very quiet, shockingly quiet. The Porsche really made me realize how much other cars have road noise and the Telluride had an exceptional low amount of road noise. Likewise the comfort of the car is on par with a base model elite automobile re: Porsche. Although its not as utilitarian as a 4Runner, the wife really does enjoy the driveability of the car as compared to the 4Runner or Porsche. I put a deposit on the spot, upon delivery I will finish the deal and if at that point I don't want it and the car sells in 30 days I get the deposit back.

Putting deposits on vehicles... does this mean you are paying MSRP for it? I really have no clue, I've only negotiated cars that are on the lot in the past

No just solidified my position on the next shipment of cars. This is also protection on my end if KIA has a better deal in the next 6 weeks than current offers/rebates
I was told by a third party that because they are sold before touching the lot it will be a tough to “get a deal”.

That’s pretty clear. Supply and demand. There is no need to reduce the price if they are selling that quickly

What are current rebates/offers for the Telluride?

We got $2,500 off sticker on the S model.

Obviously it has more features than the Tahoe. You guys were driving a Tahoe that came out in 2015. You are comparing apples to oranges.
Stupid of you to even compare the infotainment on a platform that was designed at the end of 2014.
The new tahoe is about 9 months away. If you want to make a fair comparison on the two then wait for the new release, don't compare a freaking 6 year old design.

You should probably work on that. They make one of, if not THE, best cars on the road today.

How do you know that to be true? I've experienced infotainment systems from Hyndai/Kia, Honda, Ford, Nissan and GMC, all newer model vehicles, and the Hyndai/Kia system has been hands-down the best of them. Easy to use, super intuitive and full of features. Had a new 2012 Kia Rio as a commuter car and also drove a Cadillac Escalade company vehicle regularly. The Kia infotainment system was better back then and I can't imagine it has lost much ground today.

Again your comparing infotainment on the Cadillac and Tahoe both that were designed at the end of the 2014.
If you want to compare infotainment compare the new body style trucks. Like I said the Tahoe is on an old platform. It isn't even in the same segment as a freaking Kia Telluride. That's a cross-over SUV. Compare it to the Grand Cherokee, Enclave, Traverse, Explorer, etc.

He compared against a 2012 Kia.

It can seat up to 8 and is definitely a part of the consideration set you just listed.
You sound like you work for a Chevy dealership with how you are trying to defend them.
The Tahoe is a nice SUV but it is very expensive. Price alone will alienate potential buyers.

The tahoe and yukon are the biggest volume selling SUV's in the country. It's not even close.

What's the point of this comment? The Kia Telluride is a new product hence it would be impossible for it to have historical volume.
Also, your point is not even close to accurate.

I didn't think I'd consider Kia in my upcoming car search, but realizing I can get the same product for 20k less than the incumbents makes me get over any brand recognition snobbiness really quick

Can you get the Telluride with a v8 like the tahoe or Yukon for towing a boat or trailer? If so I may have found my next vehicle.
