The Ascent became available in the third quarter of 2018.

It's still a Kia and has a stigma, you can argue all you want. I'm not saying its a bad car.

I keep staring at it but not in a good way. Not my style but how boring life would be if we all liked the same thing.

You see a ton of them for not even being out a year though. You aren’t going to see as many Kias in the same amount of time for a reason

So far dealerships cannot keep these on the lot. There are waiting lists at the local Kias around here

I’ve seen at least 20 on the road already, two of which are in parking lots at work. I’d say that’s a pretty good sign. Give it a year and you’ll be seeing far more than the Subaru. Not saying the Ascent is a bad vehicle. I would consider it as well as they make excellent cars.

Tahoes doe....

Looking at those CR ratings, I'm really trying to figure out why the Telluride rated a 90 and the Ascent a 96.

The Telluride handily wins every category rated except MPGs, which it only loses by 1. The only other one of note is predicted reliability is "average" on the Telluride versus "excellent" for the Ascent, but my guess is that is based on it being a new model (as is customary for CR). Kia/Hyundai as a whole have excellent reliability ratings, so no need to think this will be different; and their warranty torches the Subaru anyway, so who really cares?

Weird.

Correct, it is. That's what I was saying.

Dumb for not getting on a waiting list for a KIA?

Some reviews I have read said people are paying over MSRP for them... now those are the idiots

Dumb for drawing a conclusion on the value and quality of a vehicle without having any facts to back up the opinion....and when all the facts available point in the opposite direction. That’s at least ignorant at best.
