Ok help me out here. Rick is posting websites that are assessing the talent on the team after graduates and transfers have already taken place for 2018. I'm not seeing what your point is with the players that left the program before then. Am I misinterpreting your point?

Not to mention a lot of those guys on the list either washed out or have played the vast majority of their careers on Orgeron’s watch, so no one really knows how it would have played out under another staff.

It’s also hilarious that some are mentioned as “depth only”, like it’s a bad thing, while people have been bitching about not having any depth since the Mississippi State game in 2017.

He didn’t say anything like that, he’s lying and playing the victim as usual.

I kinda get the depth only comments because from what I've seen they are usually in reference to the offensive line. The theory is that the starting 5 has been relatively weak and the others would never see the field at LSU if there were a couple more starting caliber players on the roster. I won't pretend to be knowledgeable about O-line play. I just go by the recruiting rankings.

The original point was that the 2015 and 2016 offensive classes had a lot of highly-rated recruits that didn’t pan out. Guice was a second round pick, Moreau a 4th, no other players have been drafted and the only ones still on the roster aren’t starting, except Crush.

Ricky keeps posting over and over that they were highly rated. We already know that, but they didn’t produce. But Ricky’s dull point is worse than that because he’s using aggregate ratings which include defensive players and players recruited after 2016. It’s classic Ricky StrawDaddy.

We do know because a large percentage of the transferred to small schools and had unremarkable careers there.

I only saw the 2018 part of the discussion then.

The 2015 and 2016 classes were the upperclassmen in 2018. With such a high number of whiffs it created a huge void that had to be filled with younger players.

Ricky isn’t interested in discussing LSU football, only protecting Miles’ legacy.

Truth

It's been his MO since he started posting here. He was one of the rabid defenders of Miles regardless of situation.

Let's hope these recent recruiting rankings are accurate then.

I’m with Lunatik, we’ve got a damn good team to put out there in 2019 and the schedule sets up far more favorable than last year. But all Ricky and his RickyMinions want to do is try to disparage Orgeron. Why? We’ve got a fun season upcoming.

I agree, but we’ve already seen the younger players pass the older ones on the depth chart. All those 4* WRs are behind Jefferson and Chase and may be behind Marshall. The OL in those classes were busts, all of them passed, except Cush. All QBs are passed and gone. Emory should assume #1 RB in short order next year.

I don't think rankings are off, I think they're based on physical size and raw statistics. But the intangibles are what separates the elite from the average, in most cases. Particularly on the lines.

Mack Brown was getting great classes at UT at the end of his career but his players were soft. Evaluations are more important than rankings and even then some fall through the cracks

If you can get 10 solid contributors from a class, it's a good class IMO.

But you're right, we hope this class pans out as expected, it's one of those things we will not know for another 2-3 years.

Speaking of fun, last year was fun.

Sure Bama was a major disappointment and we were screwed st A$M but some of the magic was back.

Watching Burrow evolve, seeing a Jefferson so well, and watching AAs like White, Greedy and Delpit Star was special. And who can forget the Fulton story or the huge game versus Georgia in TS.

It was a season that put us on the right track and I enjoyed it.

I thought so too, LSU was sooooo close to 11-1 and did it with a huge amount of first-year starters on offense. I like LSU in 2019.

Damn right. People dwelling in the past are doing so for selfish reasoning. 2019 has potential to be special. We're 2 1/2 months from players reporting for camp.
