no business losing to a very inferior Arkansas team that year.
they won 10 regular season games with their only losses being to Bama and Auburn. and it was an away game. our passing attack that year was mostly horrendous and we had a really good defense, but not great (we were down Sam and Brandon Taylor by the Arky game). we probably should've won, but they weren't "very inferior".

To be fair... that was Saban worst team at Bama since 2007. After 2010 it’s been dominant city.

Ryan Baker showed out especially.
He blew Richardson up on his TD right at the goal line.
They got the score but Baker won the war on that one. TR was done after that and him being out really helped LSU down the stretch.

underrated team
You wunna talk about horrible offenses....that 2010 offense was sooo bad. How we managed to go 11-2 is a mystery to me. Jefferson only threw for like 6 td passes that season lmfao. Jarett Lee sprinkled in a few more but our offense was basically Ridley or nothing. Complete lack of a passing game that season. We were a good team cause our Defense carried us like usual. We had a leader on each level of the defense. Drake Nevis on the line, Kelvin Sheppard in the middle and Patrick Peterson on the back end. Add some freshmen stars like Eric Reid and Mathieu and it rounded out nice. That offense though was probably the worst of the past decade and a half.

Karnell Thatcher's terrible angles cost LSU the game against Arky that year. Dude makes three basic plays, LSU wins.
As for the 2010 Bama team, that was their hardest SEC schedule since Saban has been there.
Their alumni in charge of scheduling fixed that, however.

They actually pulled Jefferson and inserted Lee for that third and long. At least back then he realized who gave lsu the best chance to seal the game.

Record wise, yea, but most Bama fans will tell you that’s one of the most talented teams they ever had and they just under achieved that year. They were preseason #1 and had Julio Jones, mark ingram, Trent Richardson, Dre Kirkpatrick, dee milliner, dj fluker, Barret Jones, Mark Barron, Courtney Upshaw, etc. Most of them came back and made up that dominant 2012 team. That would be the last time Saban would let his team underachieve as we all know lol

I seem to remember LSU getting stuffed on 4th and short and 2 LSU DBs colliding essentially resulting in a 14 point swing right before halftime.
at the time it was a tough pill to swallow and no they may not have been "very inferior" but LSU was clearly the more talented team, but as we all know the more talented team doesn't always win.

pretty sure he used it with much success as well in the 2010 game.
I know it was definitely a thing in the 2011 game. maybe I am wrong. its been nearly 9 years after all haha.

Not talked about enough but easily one of the worst losses under Miles. Yes I know Auburn had the SEC wrapped up with Cam Newton but we had no business losing to a very inferior Arkansas team that year. Cost us a Sugar Bowl
Hatcher doesn't tackle our player and chavis doesn't show is true weakness, they don't lose that game.
The worst is still getting smoked in 14 by Auburn imo.

Yes you are correct, in both 10 and 11 JJ had unreasonable success running the option against the Bama defense. I say it was unreasonable because it was predictable and those Bama defenses were great but it still worked somehow lol

Ehh, Jeferson was on the field that out us in position to win that game. Lee threw a pass and Rueben just ran around. Lee didn't really do shite in that game.

Lmao. They pulled Jefferson on third and 15 because they knew Lee gave them a better chance to complete a third and long, which he did, and sealed the game. Had he not completed that pass, bama gets the ball back with over a minute to go.
Kinda funny you putting Lee down for that. I guess it's a black/white thing. Don't know why else you would put him down.

isnt that still Miles' largest margin of defeat?
had to have ruined Harris in the process.
I still think Harris was the play. Jennings couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Made Jarrett Lee look like Y.A. Tittle.

I just want our games to be competitive again. Our talent gap isn't that big, yet the score differential is much bigger now. For us to score them seems like an insane feat while other teams do it somewhat easily.

I remember a time where LSU safeties were absolutely destroying bama QBs. It was almost a ritual. Laron Landry. Chad Jones.

Fair enough on the inferior part but LSU was the better team though. They won that game they would’ve finish 11-1 with a sugar bowl win and the only loss being to eventual national champs Auburn.

Back when Miles knew if he wanted to complete a forward pass it was better to have Lee behind center than Jefferson.

Definitely one of my favorite games in Tiger Stadium.
