I hope Furniss keeps it. Duplantis has more at bats than any other player in LSU history. Furniss was a beast. I would take one Furniss over three of Antoine. And we also wouldn’t have to hear about mondo all year

Why do you have to shite on one over the other? Why can't you just appreciate Twanie for what he's done, while still holding Furniss in high regards? Yeah, Furniss was an all-time great, but that doesn't make Duplantis' career any less awesome.

I told my wife the same thing at the game last weekend. And I don't mean that as any disrespect towards Antoine at all. But I like to see the best players keep the records. Also, I don't like to see cumulative records get broken due to more opportunities-- which is what would be the case here.

I loved watching Big Easy Furniss. A couple observations though.
1. Eddie played with the hot bats. What would Duplaintis’ average be with those?
2. He had a tremendous OPS. Nothing Duplaintis nor Mangum can do to compare. How much did the bats play a role.
3. Both were clutch hitters.
4. Neither are close to being the best hitter in LSU History - Todd Walker. Not even comparable with 300+ hits in a season and how freaking clutch that guy was.

I love hearing about Mondo. He is the most famous athlete on LSU’s campus, and deservedly so.
