I doubt it. Political attitudes amongst the younger generations towards vices like marijuana, sports gambling and casinos are continuing to shift, even in largely conservative states.

So as long as we are gambling here, whats the over/ under on how long Top Golf lasts in this city? I give it 18 months. New is good but it will crash and burn like everything else around here

Pretty obvious
But Oklahoma has put a big dent in Shreveport’s revenue

That didnt happene at LAuberge. That would make it illegal.

L'Auberge really isn't a big casino in the first place. Not to mention, the location doesn't help. Harrah's in New Orleans, for example, is pretty much in the french quarter.
And they don't really provide the greatest entertainment. Clint Black can only bring in so many people.
People will gamble if you get them there.
Entertainment is becoming a bigger attraction in Las Vegas than gambling.

GenX, Millennials and GenZ will be the vast majority of voters as the Baby Boomers die off. I'd surmise (from my anecdotal experience) that they aren't going to govern as social conservatives. The government of Texas would be foolish to not legalize gambling at some point. Tilman Fertitta isn't powerful enough to control the whole state.

If Louisiana made prostitution legal, but only casinos can provide the service, that would one up all the other states.

Why? They put it in a good area and middle class people always enjoy drinking and hitting objects.

It's been packed when I've been. Even a few weeks ago and the crowd was fine. It isn't free so it's not like a downtown fireworks show where you can go and not spend money.

shocker, casinos become trashy and filled with asians, blacks and trashy white folk

Exactly. It's in an area where it is not likely to be affected by the culcha element does not spend money, and it involves drinking and hitting stuff with a golf club.

Great idea. You could get fricked twice in the same joint.

At L'auberge Baton Rouge the only acts that sell out consistently are Better Than Ezra and the Molly Ringwalds. Anytime they have spent money for a "name" act it has lost money.

Huge fricking dent. That's a dead market IMO

Not sure why they thought building so far out would be successful. They need to give you a reason to go . Not sure they are doing it.

Meh, I don't want to sit next to your arse at the black jack table while you blow smoke in my face and hit on 18.
But more people do or don’t care and there’s the loss revenue.
I can’t stand the Casino and every time my MiL visits we have to go. We’ve rarely gone now because she can’t smoke anymore. Works out for me, but I guarantee people like her outnumber people who go more now that there’s no smoking.
