Jani-King Gulf Coast broke ground on a new 18,000-square-foot corporate headquarters facility in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
The company will make a $4.5 million capital investment to develop the new headquarters location, which will replace the company’s current location in downtown Ponchatoula. The new corporate headquarters will be located northeast of the Interstate 55 interchange with Louisiana Highway 22.
Since launching in 1969, Jani-King has grown into the world’s largest commercial cleaning franchise company, operating 130 support offices. Jani-King Gulf Coast is the largest master franchise in the Jani-King system, with more than 500 Jani-King franchises stretching from Texas to Georgia.

This article is a little late, eh? They started construction a month ago. It's going to be located on the frontage road next to the I-55 exit. I'm just curious as to why they put it there. Oh wait, I forgot where I live for a moment.
Traffic is going to further suck. It's bad enough Business 51 is a wall of cars between 3-6 PM and Pine street is a pain during those hours as well. Now the frontage road is going to be awful. Progress I guess.

Because non-marketable liberal arts college degrees have nothing to offer other than a job at Jani-King or Starbucks.

That really shows you the failure of capitalism that no entrepreneurs will open a liberal arts company

Wrong. It shows the SUCCESS of capitalism that they DO offer jobs to liberal arts majors....they are at Jani-King and Starbucks!!

This is silly. How many people are going to be employed in an 18,000 square foot facility, such that it would have a significant affect on existing traffic?
Anyway, it looks like they are just relocating an office from downtown Pontchatoula according to the article. This doesn't seem like a new influx type development.

Absolute truth and a great point Y.A.; As an example, the footprint for one of those larger Dollar General "Market" stores is only about 20-22,000 square feet.

Maybe if the government mandated that certain entrepreneurs had to open up liberal arts companies like say a graphics design or Classical Greek literature company. That would make the free market more fair

Nice. That will be huge for that area.
The real estate for probably much cheaper there so they jumped on it

That's almost the size of the lobby of my company's building.

So a company headquarters that is already located in Ponchy is moving to a new location in Ponchy. Well, I guess, that is good news.

They are clearly running out of economic development news to write about.

I drive through that often. It's already a clusterfrick now.
The red circle is where the new facility is being built
It's already a pain in the arse with people getting on and off the interstate as well as people trying to get across LA 22 from the SE service road to the I-55 frontage road.
edit: corrected the map, was a bit off on the location
