Great recruiter. The whole staff is great at it. But sending and holding guys he struggles. He was a pitcher so guess he doesn’t know any better

I wish he would have done a better job. He should have been down the line, he should have let Smith make a turn and read the play,
Instead he was up the line and he had Smith stop when he guessed the second baseman had made the play.

A lot of potential for sure, but none of stepped up and become consistent starters. A lot of possibilities, but no elite guys yet.
Now if you want to go strictly by rankings then he’s awesome. But I’m going by what I see on the field.

Nolan “the Windmill” Cain has been a blight at third base for years. He’s cost us numerous games over the years and even a couple of postseason games. In one postseason he ran about a dozen runners to their death at home plate ... I recall one super-regional where he sent two runners in one inning to home when they should’ve held.
He may be a great asset to the team elsewhere, but he’s a liability at third.
