Visiting Baton Rouge

I will be visiting New Orleans in September and we are thinking about stopping in Baton Rouge as part of a day trip. Is there any place to eat the would be a classic LSU hangout?
Thanks for any suggestions.

The Chimes on campus is the best bet. Really not sure a day trip to BR is worth it though unless you just really want to see the campus or state capitol.

If you want honest advice, don’t waste your time on going to BR. You’d be much better off staying in NOLA.

I'd recommend visiting the Acadiana region over BR to get a better taste of Cajun culture

Can never imagine eating at the Chimes or whatever being worth leaving NOLA on a trip

Thanks to all of you.
We were going to the Global Wildlife Safari and thought about stopping on the way back.

BR isn't on the route between Global Wildlife and N.O..... skip it

It’s about an hour out of the way

Stop by middendorfs instead

If you’re looking for the LSU experience, agree with Chimes. The original walks ons is second but be prepared for sub par food relative to your next option in New Orleans. It’s food bar food but that’s about it

Past Times or the Chimes if you are going through BR.
You are actually going to go through Covington to get to Global. They have a Chimes there as well but someone from that area might be better suited to give advise for that area.

Dude, are you serious? I don't know how anyone could recommend that place. It's hot garbage.
