I hope that the spiteful element of the LSU fanbase is simply a vocal minority.

But, there were posters here clearly hoping Greedy would bomb in the draft because he elected not to play in the bowl game. Had Greedy gone in the first round, it would have been a plus for recruiting.

There is a thread now on the Rant that was clearly set up to start a Miles trashing thread. He's been gone three years now. It also seems like some here haven't figured out that you can like both Coach Miles and Coach Orgeron.

There were even some shots take at Cole Tracy. BTW, I'm not talking about criticism where the poster adds "but I wish him the best of luck and hope he gets into the NFL."

And, since I know someone will bring it up, I don't secretly hope for Wade's demise. LSU basketball's future depends on Wade's ability to survive the "scandal" and get on with coaching the Tigers. If Wade crashes and burns, so will LSU basketball.

I'm not sure how anyone can like Miles....he is a bonafide idiot and his recruiting philosophy took a steaming dump all over our offensive line.

O is growing on me though....he can help his cause immensely this season.

I agree. It’s like posters taking any and every opportunity to take shots at Will Wade. Even saying he gets no credit for the post season wins although it’s common knowledge he’s the one who was giving the coaches the game plan. Posters going out of their way to negate anything positive about his role in the teams success.

It’s sad.

Kind of like how you were clearly hoping Wade would fail in basketball?

Oh, they were giddy at the prospect of him bombing. Mid Second was a huge disappointment for those that wanted him to slide.

They are ignorant about many things they have strong opinions.

-he hired his best friend as his agent...disproven
-look at all the clinger he has....unfounded
-he refused to interview because he is dumb-no
-he is a quitter-no (I wish he would have played, if he was my son I would ask him to play...but damn, let bygones be bygones)

The default to an emotional reaction is a Louisiana trait.

Tracy’s not an NFL kicker, that’s considered taking shots at him?

Nobody hoped he would bomb. We predicted he would.

His selfish decision caused LSU to have to play WRs at CB against a productive passing team. He was a Me-First kid.

Lsu basketball managed to survive the worst coach in its history just a few short years ago, a coach that had 4 NBA players in his starting 5 (Hornsby, Simmons, Quarterman, Blakeney) and couldn't get to the tournament. LSU basketball will survive this.

It’s a generation raised on reality shows instead of playing sports. People are more interested in, in order: 1) firing and hiring 2) winning at all cost 3) watching/playing the games.

It's a coonass thing. Hot blooded Acadians. It's the yin and the yang of LSU athletics and Louisiana politics.

The Rant is a negativity magnet.

For whatever reason a percentage of LSU "fans" think that it elevates them when they try to tear down some aspect of LSU athletics. They tell themselves that they are:
"realists"
"smart"
"experts"
"know the real inside story"
"don't buy the party line"
or any other excuses for their insecurities.

Basically they are just a bunch of sad losers at life.

this in spades. I just don't get it. Seems there is a very vocal and persistent portion of our fan base, who seem to not have lives outside of this forum for the same ones are on here 24/7, who would love to see Orgeron, and thus the LSU program taking a huge step backwards that would take years to recover from, fail here at LSU. It is truly weird. I was wondering if other fanbases have "fans" like this. Was going to ask Buckeye Jeaux if Ohio St has these types but keep forgetting to.

Thanks, OP. It is refreshingly nice to have some emotionally mature grown ups posting on TR.
