Maybe his parents planned for children and they are paying for his college because that is what good parents do. As long as he is not asking me for money or asking my tax money to pay his student loan off I don't care what the does.
that's what my grandparents and parents did and i plan to do the same when i have kids.

When î recruited college age kids do for summer work I learned to avoid hiring from certain places because the kids weren't adventurous and generally mamas boys.
Best came from mountain states and the Great Lakes. The South and East were terrible. No sense of adventure, homesick and didn't assimilate.

I’ll do all I can for my children. I’m financially secure enough that my children’s children won’t have to work.
They are both in college and doing quite well.
Just because they don’t have to work doesn’t mean they aren’t responsible.

See, this is where I think there is a cultural difference we're missing. No one questions the personal courage of the average black kid.
Look how many black kids play football - the only thing closer to combat are actual combat sports.
But, when a black kid joins the service, it is going to be far more likely to - at least initially - be a short-term plan. So, they tend to focus on something that translates to civilian occupations. At least in the Army, transportation and logistics tended to be heavily African American. Infantry units tended to be heavily white.
Infantry, the USMC (generally), Ranger/SF-type specialties tend to be more of a calling than a vocation.

Kids that join the infantry and go on to volunteer for SOF, generally fall into a relatively narrow psychological profile that contains traits that are most prevalent in the White male population. The topic has been studied with great interest and much data has been recorded on the matter. Very few Black men will find themselves even trying to join a SOF unit, which is just how that demographic tends to trend. The few that do work their way on over, in my experience, have mixed results. The culture in these communities is just about as monopolar as it gets.
It's certainly not only about bravery, or toughness, but there is definitely a certain set of behavioral tendencies that are necessary in order for one to be successful and integrate in that environment.

Thank you for taking the time to vent a racist tirade based off of a singular experience you've had. We aren't sick of this mentality at all. Using one experience and assuming the rest of the world is just the same. We LOVE hearing all about your frustrations.
They can raise their kids how they like, and that is up to them to judge whether or not giving them money (their own money) is well spent or not.
