I did that in the 90s, and it was worth the time.
Went to the courthouse and spoke with a city attorney for no more than a couple minutes. Paid a fine and it never hit my record.
The attorneys deal with much worse than you or me, all day every day. Every other person in line to meet with him was wearing orange and chains.
