Speeding ticket court question

I got a speeding ticket for going 83 in a 70 near the Bullard avenue exit on I-10 in Nola. (I know, slow the frick down). My question is, is it worth my time to show up to traffic court and ask them to bump it down to a non-moving violation so it stays off my insurance? I haven’t had a speeding ticket in 15 years. Just curious about other OT’ers experience in haggling with them and how successful they were.
Here is a photo of Torrie Wilson as thanks for any advice.

Hire a lawyer to go in and get it dropped

You were speeding. Pay it or go to driving school.
Haggling ain't gonna work.

What was your question about the girl in the bikini?

Call the DA's office and ask if you can speak to him about a ticket. Hopefully she will ask you to write him a letter.
Write a letter admitting guilt and remorse and admiration for him and the city and ask for his mercy.
It may have worked for me and millions others. Good luck.

If you ask for that option do they automatically grant it, or do you have to hope for a “nice” city representative?

I certainly wouldn't go to court expecting that to happen in front of the whole world. My suggestion would be to call the DA and ask if there is any kind of program you can attend (in person or on line) that would allow the ticket to be bumped to a non-moving violation. Honestly, this is common practice in small towns and rural areas. Often, they just charge you some kind of "administrative" fee on top of the normal fine. If your driving record is not clean, don't even bother asking about this.

So basically like getting reinstated on TD.com

I have had plenty of tickets. ALL - even state troopers, will drop it to a seatbelt ticket if you ask them. You will probably have to pay the same amount, but they will gladly make it non-moving. They only care about the cash.

Correct. Show up on the date, wait in line, ask for a non moving. Done.

Call them before ct and ask that. It’ll stay off your record and they get their money. win/win

Plead not guilty. Tell them you were trying to GTFO of Orleans Parish where people get shot on I-10.

Worked for me before. Showed up on my court date, told the judge I was definitely speeding but I disagreed with how fast the cop said I was going. Judge cut my fine in half and the ticket didn’t go on my record.
I was also the only person that looked like me in the courtroom so that might’ve helped.

I did that in the 90s, and it was worth the time.
Went to the courthouse and spoke with a city attorney for no more than a couple minutes. Paid a fine and it never hit my record.
The attorneys deal with much worse than you or me, all day every day. Every other person in line to meet with him was wearing orange and chains.

The Speed Limit On I-10 at Bullard is 60 MPH.
It changes from 70 MPH down to 60 MPH at the Paris Road Interchange East of Bullard.
