I find it funny that people are literally "handing" Florida the title in 2021. I know this is a monster class with McCusker, Hurd, and Jones. But I think people are underestimating LSU's class with Dunne, Bryant, Arenas, and Shchennikova. I'm not including Emma Kelley because I haven't seen any progress in her training the past few years. Florida's freshman will possibly be coming off Olympic runs. LSU's gymnasts will be much fresher and not as worn out. It just irritates me how people think these days.

The playing field levels significantly when the elites go to ncaa. There really isn’t a gap, when they are all now doing watered down routines.
I am also not convinced all of them make it to campus (most will for sure).

That’s if they all make it there. A lot can happen in 1-2 years! And then are they just going to bump all the girls that have been starting? I also wonder when Jenny gets on the hot seat for way underachieving with all the talent she has now and coming in. It should really be in a year or 2 if they don’t win a championship.

Speaking of, Duckworth at Alabama ain't gonna last IMO.

I didn't think she would survive after this season, but I would think if things don't change soon they will make a change

I think if Duckworth doesn’t reach Nationals next year she’ll be gone imo. Her future rests a lot with how well Makarri performs next year.

Between Riley and Morgan, one of them will not go to UF, possibly both. I can kind of already see Riley on Dancing with the Stars... You can't fault either one of them. If they win team gold next year (I should probably change that to 'when' they win team gold) and if either of them earn another medal in individuals, the $$ is just too much of a draw not to turn professional and forfeit NCAA eligibility. It's almost like LSU Baseball and the big recruits they receive verbals from then lose on MLB Draft Day.

With the limited numbers on the Olympic team this go around it is a real possibility that both Hurd and McClusker doth BOTH make the team. It's now down to 4 so it's gonna be tight and some tears will be shed.
Baring injury I see Biles McClusker, McCallum all on the team. Then the question is did they take a specialist like Eaker on Beam ahead of potentially Hurd

What will they turn professional in. It wont be gymnaastics.
The only thing that might cost eleigibility is endorsemetns based upon gymnastics products or services. Th eNCAA now allows athletes to be professionals in one sport and remain eligibile in another.

When they say turn professional it means they take in money/other endorsements, they are now benefiting financially. Once they do that, they are ineligible to compete at the NCAA level!
So some of those girls will have decisions to make after next fall! Obviously Biles is already pro, the other girls who make the team will have a shite load of opportunities and endorsements that come from it if they decide on it.

This is why Biles didn't end up on the UCLA team. She decided to take the endorsement money and became ineligible for collegiate gymnastics

I thought they could have 4 with 2 specialists.

No they keep making new rules to try to limit the United States's performance so now they're going down to 4 members total.... I believe there's 2 alternate spots available.
LINK
The other means you're talking about is what Jade Carey and her father or attempting to do to make it as a solo competitor

Aleah's bars.... yikes
She was extremely off on every event today. A lot of nerves in her routines.
So many mistakes in this senior group night one.

All the top stars had rough points of tonight, I think Jade Carey probably was the most consistent of all of the big names even though are bars is not great she had no major breaks on any of her events
The pressure for these young ladies trying to make the Olympic team with only 4 competitors being allowed to go is astounding. I'm glad 2020 will be the only year that they are cut down to 4.

Its going to be insane next year, especially with 4 spots. Obviously Biles is a lock bearing injury but then you have a group of like 5-7 girls who really could get those 3 other spots. Idk how they are going to make these choices.
A lot happens in just one year, especially injuries...
-Wong
-Eaker
-McCusker
-McCallum
-Sunisa Lee
-Jade Carey
-Hurd
You could throw Trinity in the mix as well w/ proper upgrades.
But there are a lot of mistakes from the big competitors tonight. Not what I was expecting to see.
Aleah's D score on beam tonight was a 5.0 when it was like a 5.8 a few weeks ago. Combine that with the crash on the dismount, she gave away 2 points alone on bars and beam. Her vault and floor have been better as well. Just wasn’t her night, hopefully it’s better next night.

I was surprised that so many girls struggled on night 1. Jade was literally the only one who didn’t have a major break. Every member of the Pan Ams team had a major hiccup. I was surprised to see McCallum struggle on bars and beam. She’s usually the most consistent one. Hopefully Sunday will be a much better day for all the gymnasts.

If they cash in on their success at the Olympics in Gymnastics, they will not be eligible for College Gymnastics. It does not have to be for only "gymnastics products or services". This is not the same as a professional baseball player who is playing College Football. That player is still not eligible for college baseball.

I think we are in agreement. I was responding to the comment that that when they win gold the money would be too much for the gymnasts to turn pro. There is no professional gymnastics so the only way they can cash in would be by endorsements for products or services related to gymnastics.
Not a likely scenario but if they did so they could participate in another sport like track and fieled if they had the ability to do so.

Lilly Lippeatt finishes in the top 8 to secure a spot on the junior national team
Her vault needs to be upgraded badly, a full on vault is such a drag on the AA score. Her bars, beam and floor are really good, just needs to continue to upgrade...
Lilly finished 21st at juniors national last year, major improvements in just one year. Although she should continue to grow which should help with her power (which is physically limited due to her size)
