Holy crap. Eaker fell off the beam on her mount in the all around.

She did that at worlds too, in the individual, but was solid in the team competition in both worlds and Pan Ams

They might be asking her to take that out. I know she hasn't screwed up in the team finals but its two major international competitions where she has fallen strictly on the mount. With all the difficulty and connections she does in that routine they might not want to risk the fall on the mount alone.

Her ankle had been bothering her a lot. I don't know if this is some kind of new injury.

Per the most recent post on caringbridge, it appears to be a concussion-protocol thing.

I felt bad when I saw that, I know Aleah wanted a chance to medal bad in the event finals. Hopefully she is good to go for nationals.

Supposedly she is will throw the upgrades on bars soon. She trains a very nice shaposh 1/2 and also trains a straddled tkatchev right into a pak salto. Should raise her D score up by a little. I heard a rumor she was working some inbars. On beam she has 3 elements connected out of that standing Arabian. She would see at least .200 increase in her D score. Ring leaps need to be fixed. Wong and Eaker have the same issues that hinder their E scores.

I hope they give her a new dismount on floor. That last pass is extremely inconsistent for her. She losses a lot of points on that one pass alone. I can't wait to see her do a punch front out of her double Arabian. I think she has it all to be competitive with the top group on vault, beam and floor but she needs to get that bars score up to be competitive in that all around. She has come a long way and I think Al is really pacing her extremely well. Curious though if they go for the amanar for next season.

Watching her vaults at Pam Ams she seems to have the power to get the 2 1/2 in there

Most of the time I have seen her in training and podium practice, she always seems to over power her double, I would think adding a 1/2 twist wouldn't be difficult for her. Just comes down to controlling her landing. I think she is going to have to attempt to upgrade to an Amanar possibly to have a shot at the olympics. She brings very good vault beam and floor to the table. She has a nice DTY but adding an amanar would definitely bring up her score on vault to the 15's with a solid landing. Not sure if many know but Wong and McCallum have amanars but haven't put it in competition. McCallum though trains a lot of upgrades but seems to never put it in competition so who knows if that will actually happen.

Here is her vault from the team final that wasn't aired

I know this isn't related to recruiting, but Lexie's interview on the Up and In Show is finally posted to YouTube.

Lexie Interview

She's such an inspiration. So excited to see what the future holds for her.

Aleah is cleared for nationals which is wonderful news

She might be putting in some more upgrades depending on how training goes this week.

Still awaiting Alyona to make it official. She is only in contact with all the LSU girls and future commits. And she has moved onto following the LSU football recruits on social media

Podium training: Some updates on Aleah

Beam:

Struggled a lot on her standing Arabian (came off beam multiple times), hopefully she can make adjustments by meet time. Front tuck was spot on today. Her dismount series is off center every single time which opens room for deductions. Ring leap was MUCH better, should help her E score. She has had better routines, although she has never been the best on beam at podium training.

Floor:

Best tumbling I have ever seen her do. Stuck double double, and her best stag out of her double Arabian (very controlled). Third pass was spot on as always and improved her dismount. Definitely one of the best floor routines out there today, should score above 14+ for sure with the tumbling she did.

Vault:

Is that an Amanar from Aleah? Extra half twist on one of the warm up vaults. She is also practicing her double as well. We likely only see the double this weekend

didn't see much on bars but I wish she had a different routine construction

Aleah struggled on bars tremendously. She didn’t get through a full routine I don’t believe. With her struggles, it’s not likely she’ll upgrade any time soon.

On a more positive note, Per Tom Forester, all of the gymnasts on the Pan Ams team will automatically qualify to the Worlds Selection Camp regardless of placement at Nationals. I think that’s great.

One thing I will say is she never typically looks strong during the podium training. She seems to make a lot of adjustments quickly before competition day, which she does a great job of. She has had reduced reps since getting knick up in practice in PAN AM's so maybe that is playing a role.

Honestly I am not a fan of Aleah's bars construction. There is some lazy routine construction by Al in the middle, which include many built in deductions. I personally would change it.

Aleah's floor podium

Here is Aleah's podium training on floor.

**Watched a replay of the bars training today. It appears Aleah had issues with her grips. She had to constantly fix them and had other people helping her.
