It seems very unlikely that Woodward would replace O immediately after coming onto campus, but it feels now like O needs to have a really good year (10-2 or better I would think) in order to keep his job. With our expectations this year against a relatively easier schedule, 9-3 or worse very well may just put him in the can and put Jimbo in his place. I may be underestimating how much f king will play a roll in this, though.

Not yet. But anything less than 11-1 (or more likely 10-2) this year and his arse is grass.

This. 10-2 probably puts him on notice but he’d keep his job.

Don’t care just glad we’ve got a man in charge now competent enough to make the decision one way or the other

I agree with that. I would consider that to be the hot seat but that’s just me I guess

Orgeron will not, and should not, be fired just because Woodward was hired.

He will also be coaching LSU next season, barring some kind of incredible collapse, which I doubt happens.

The best part is now the standard is objective.

You won’t see Woodward desperately touting a 9-3 season as success like Alleva did.

No, but another 9-3 season with this talent probably will get him on the hot seat for next year. I hope and pray we win 11 like we should tho. O seems to love and care about our football program so i want to see him succeed, but if he can’t, it’s a business.

Good post. Orgeron is going nowhere.

Coach O should be OK. He's 2nd best Coach on campus.

No, he's not on the hot seat.

But Woodward knows what LSU is capable of as a program. If the coach doesn't have the team seriously competing for a NC this season, he's going to have his own ideas about who should be leading this team.

Spot on.

I now have actual trust in the person in charge of making those decisions.

No, a better AD is going to help him succeed. Coach O is going to lead LSU to the playoff this year.

He’s not on the hot seat at all but Scott has no vested interest in his success. He’s here to do what’s best for LSU. In all sports.

O has got us going in the right direction. Just needs to keep Aranda around!
