How has arson or terror been ruled out so quickly at the cathedral?

Fire was just put out, investigation is still ongoing but they know already that arson and terror weren’t the culprits. What evidence would lead them to that conclusion so quickly?

We will never know the truth. They are happy that they have the renovation accident angle to use.
If it was truly and accident, tons of people wouldn't believe it. If it was a worker who is a firebug, they won't admit it. If it was a Muslim worker looking for an easy victory for the great jihad, they won't admit it. If it was a more sinister terrorist plot, they won't admit it.
The whole thing is going to be whitewashed. They will probably be out today saying "don't worry about the cause; let's just focus on re-building!"

Muslims do have a bit of respect for Christian holy sites. They haven't tried anything on the Vatican or Jesus' birthplace or anywhere like that. We haven't touched Mecca. I don't think either side wants to escalate things to that level.

They blow up holy sites with a quickness. What are you talking about? Are Sunni's blowing up Shiite ancient mosque's (or other way around) more acceptable? You think they respect Christians more than their offshoot Muslim sects? They don't brazenly attack our sites because of the retribution that would occur. It is certainly possible someone saw the fire start and thus they can rule arson / terror. Not saying this is the case but I know someone who many moons ago accidentally started a pretty big arse fire. It was reported almost immediately what caused the fire because there were witnesses.
Construction / Repair is always going on in that church. That could easily be what caused the fire.
Once again, not saying any of the above is true but leaping to terror is even worse than dismissing it since there damn well may have been witnesses to what caused the fire.

If it was a Middle eastern group wouldn't they have claimed it by now? Has anyone taken claim for the other church burnings?

Because when you are dealing with a corrupt government and investigating authority that precludes certain conclusions from being reached, this is what happens. Same story as the Las Vegas shooting.

If it’s arson/terror, the arsonist/terrorist will want to take credit for it. The worst thing for the arsonist/terrorist would be to have gone trough all that work only for it to be declared an accident.
