Although Naz is taller, Watford plays a lot more aggressive on both ends. Also his handle is more polished than Reid’s. I ultimately think Watford ends up being our center. Although he is 6’8, like Emmit Williams, he plays bigger than his height. His 3 point shot is similar to Naz, but i think he will take/make more than Naz. Combine him with the our hopeful returnees, plus our new deadly 3 point shooter in Hyatt, we will be in great shape next year to hopefully challenge for top 5 in the SEC and a top 7-8 seed, or maybe even better! CANT WAIT #bootup

They are comparable, Naz is easily the better athlete of the 2 though. Not sure Watford will shoot the 3 as well either, but they can play somewhat similar.

Reid can't dribble. Watford is a ball handler. Kid is extremely impressive, and seems like a good kid/family.

To me, Reid had the size and build of an old-school center, but had the ability to step out and play on the wing (though most would agree he helped the team more once he was willing to go inside and battle around the rim).

Watford is more of a 6'9 wing. You're not going to expect him to bang people around inside like Reid could with his size. However, he seems much more fluid playing on the wing than Reid did. Reid could do it so some degree, but he was still a bit clumsy and unsure of himself off the dribble.

Regardless of where he plays he's not going to be asked to be a traditional "Center" insofar as he is't just going to camp out on the block and strictly play with his back to the basket.

Also, Williams isn't 6'8. He's more like 6'6 with incredibly long arms. That, coupled with his motor and big hands make him a terrific rebounder. But he does and will struggle mightily if he is asked to consistently guard 6'9 - 6'11 guys in the paint.

With a smaller line up compared to last year we just can't expect as many offensive rebounds. But that can be more than made up with more team quickness, more drives to the basket, better outside shooting and fewer turnovers. On the defensive side team quickness and help will have to come into play when we have to face teams with bigs down low. We will be a more athletic and quicker team next year with Watford than last year.

This. If Emmitt were actually 6'8 he would potentially be gone

From what I've seen of Watford on film I'd say they're almost as alike as you can get.

Watford is a better ball handler, but not quite as physical.

Somone has to be a rim protector and I don’t think that’s part of his game. You can’t get by with a couple 6’6 PFs and a swing forward as your frontcourt

He has the length for it. We'll see how much weight he gains by the fall.

Watford better ball handler and much smoother. Guy handles the ball like a guard, has a smooth shot too.

How do we know this? KBW didn’t appear to be either when he came in.

I don’t think Naz and Watford are similar at all. Watford can probably play a little 4, but he can play full time on the wing as well. Their skill sets are completely different.
