1/3 of lineup below Mendoza line

Not surprising that hitting struggles at times.
Tonight we are using a .188 hitter at DH?
Are both Gio and Willis unavailable?
Is there another top 100 team in the country that routinely starts 3 players hitting below the Mendoza line?
Broussard .188
Hughes .186
Mathis .176
Does Mainieri even Moneyball?

As solid as Mathis is behind the plate along with no one to back him up he don’t count.

It's almost like LSU needs have a competent, experienced coach that teaches nothing but hitting.

The bottom third of the order is scary as hell. I can't remember when I had as little faith in those slots.

Broussard .188
Hughes .186
Mathis .176
Broussard struggled & is improving, he will continue to get better with each at bat
Mathis does more for the team behind the plate, he has been a Baw back there, as long as he keeps blocking balls & improves at throwing out runners I don’t care what his batting average is
There is a lot more to the story that a #
Kinda like sitting Dugas

But the rant told me hitting coaches don’t matter?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 6:33 pm to GeismarGeauxer
Broussard is only DHing because of the left handed pitching. It would normally be just 2 in the lineup, but don't let me stand in the way of the bitching.

Makes it even worse all 3 are right handed and all we seem to face are lefties

Travis Jewett is a damn good hitting coach if y’all want to take him

You hear all these crickets, or is it just me?

Just mentioned it in game thread. Over .200 prob but other 2 still well below.

Yep, it's official, baseball is the only sport on tv right now. Lots of dummies starting to watch that think they figured it out

Now that's a thought. Are you sure that is not against NCAA rules? Surely if it were legal one of the highest paid coaches in NCAA baseball would have been doing that for the past say, uhm at least 5-6 years, while our lack of timely hitting kept us from winning another 2-3 CWS titles!
Must either be illegal or poor little LSU baseball can't afford a coach of that statue.

.... so the point is to hit less than .200? Is that what you’re making your stand on?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 9:43 pm to GeismarGeauxer
Amazing LSU is leading the West with that type of production from the bottom of our lineup. Must have a great coach...is what any objective baseball fan would say

#4 Oregon State has two
#5 Stanford has two
LSU is 8th in the nation, 8-4 in SEC and only 0.5 game out of 1st place in the West!
If anything, it should be a positive thing that CPM is starting 3 players that are hitting under .200
