Comparing prices for on and off premise consumption

The beer tastes the same if it's on or off premise. I get that the bar has overhead, so they mark up the price of the alcohol, but the product that I'm buying is still the same.

ETA: and a restaurant is different from cooking at home, for that other comparison that was mentioned. At the bar, they aren't making, or preparing the beer. They are just pouring it. Service is also a much greater aspect of what you're paying for at a restaurant than a bar.

But you're saying "I'm okay with the bar marking up for on premise consumption so why would I care when the brewery does it for off premise?"
