It’s a Museum heavy city.
Berlin Wall
The best portion of the old Wall is NE of City Center with a good museum.
Avoid Checkpoint Charlie, it’s just a shed in the neutral ground
Museums of Everything Else
The concentration (ha!) of National Museums is a UNESCO site cleverly called Museum Island
You could spend a week there (there’s 5 separate museums).
Misc.
Make sure to walk around the Brandenburg Gate (Branderburger Tor), it’s on the main E-W drag (Unter den Linden). There’s sidewalk cafes on it and east of the Gate it turns into Tiergarten park where the Reichstag is located.
My favorite restaurant there is actually Austrian-themed but we Americans don’t notice the difference. Aigner and it’s open as late.
Lotsa curbside tables set-up, I’ve had good luck eating at random ones.
Trip Advisor near your hotel?
I understand the nightlife is good there, I know there’s good talent around but I’ve been happily married since the last ice sheet retreated from the Midwest US so I don’t know first hand.
I stay at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski, it’s 4-5 star for about $300 per night.
Everyone speaks some English sometimes you’ll have to listen hard to make out what they’re trying to say.
Good luck, Berlin is a bit expensive but great.
