Question for OT cardiologists

Story thus far: SO went to internist a few weeks ago for abdominal issues. Nothing serious found there, but Internist noticed irregular heartbeat and recommended a cardio workup.
Cardiologist put her on a heart monitor for 7 days. Based on that, recommended a nuclear stress test, which took place Friday. Got a call from the nurse today saying the Dr wants to do an angiogram.
SO is asymptomatic, normal weight, nonsmoker, and exercises 4-5 times a week. She is reluctant to do another test without any symptoms, particularly an invasive one. Should we be concerned, or is the Dr practicing defensive medicine/Running up a bill? The Dr is very well regarded as best we can tell.

I need more information. Including pics.
If the nuclear stress test showed evidence of exercise induced ischemia she absolutely needs a heart cath.

Ask him to do a CT coronary angiogram first.

Did they share their suspicions or concerns?

She walks for 1-1.5 hours at a brisk pace, does yoga and pilates, all without difficulty. Is it likely someone like that could have ischemia?

believe it or not, most of my friends that have suffered a heart attack at a younger age were the fittest sumbitches i know.
don't chance it.

Running up a bill?
that's just the beginning. just wait until they install one of the modern defibrillators in her

Idk. How bout asking the cardiologist if the stress test showed induced ischemia. If it didnt and she is asymptomatic I would not get a heart cath.
A calcium score CT is pretty cheap and if its clean she is likely good. I think some places will do those for $100-200 cash. No insurance needed.

Has had several EKGs. The only thing the Dr has said so far is she is concerned about the irregular heartbeat.

Call someone and get a large critical illness policy before she has a formal diagnosis.

Get it checked out, if your heart stops working, you stop working.
