Pet friendly artificial grass

Anyone ever dealt with a dog that has completely destroyed their backyard. Last spring our sod was full and vibrant. Now it’s just a 300ft dirt pad with no hope of grass ever growing back.
I found a few companies online that advertise pet friendly turf. Anyone here have expirences with such turf. It’s a small backyard, 300sf, looking to turf my yard ASAP. Recommendation in the Nola area are welcomed.

I got some from Costco and it has held up great. I don't remember the brand. Check out their website.

I’m a landscape architect and have designed a few of these for large downtown apartment buildings. Foreverlawn and Synlawn are professional grade artificial turfs. You need to do a drainage system below the base which will help with urine smells. Truthfully, I wouldn’t recommend because if you don’t do it right you’re going to be ripping it out because the smell is going to be unbearable.

we did a small area in artificial turf...one of my best investments ever. Dog poops and pees and there is no smell. I had to have a bunch of drains in the area...then they filled in the sublayer with crushed rock...then added turf on top...totally recommend it.

I'm lazy, I'd just leave it as destroyed. I figure the artificial stuff would just weather badly in the sun and elements.

What type of drains are we talking about here? Like putting in a french drain or what? Trying to decide if this is DIY project or not.

Is the dog outside all the time? What type of grass was there? How much sun does it get?

The dog stays inside at all times and only goes outside to take care of business and “zoom time”. We sod the yard when we finished the renovation 3 years ago and the grass lasted until this winter. We got a new pup last summer, between running in circles while kicking up dirt and pulling up grass this is what we have now.
The grass gets a few hours of sun midday but most of the time it’s blocked by our house.

The dog in the first pic has since passed away (rip). The new dog is hell on wheels and caused my backyard to look like this.

Ive considered something like this but my wife doesn’t think it would be fair for the dog.

sometimes a man's just got to do what a man's got to do. That looks fine and also functional for an outdoor living space.

Turf is the way to go. I will try to find out the maker of the turf we used. My space is probably same as your. Mostly behind my garage where there is little sunlight due to trees. Great dog run and play area.

Synlawn(mentioned above) is all I spec on my jobs. Mine are all commercial or multi-family projects though.
