Not sure that any single verbal beatdown would be enough to commit suicide over. There had to be other issues. Wearing a MAGA hat, today, is seeking attention, and reaction. Child had to be reaching out, but no one listening. Prayers to his family.

I think the stories may be getting mixed-up. A 12yr old student at the lab school died less than 2 weeks ago.

Sure, but what could have been said that this kid killed himself? An otherwise normal kid doesn't typically kill himself because of one incident like this.

Is that what caused him to kill himself, or is it more of a coincidence on the day it happened? Maybe not a coincidence, but one factor among many.

I would have to guess it was the straw that broke the camals back if true. If true, a contributing factor i would say. Don't know temporal nature.

I think most people follow the religions and politics of their parents, even past adulthood.
Some people can't cope with life. Sad.

Reminds me of "Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmm" three stories of kids with problems that weren't really that bad.
If a kid killed himself over one verbal berating, he had depression issues as well.
