I knew a guy that flunked out of school and got disowned. For a while he was working at a storage unit place and living in one of the units. I lost track after that. Several years later he owns a very successful business with branches all along the gulf coast and riding in Rex. His family was well connected and I guess he got back in their good graces.

Creative.

There used to be apartments on Chimes with no indoor plumbing. Buddy of mine lived there. He’d shower at stadium dorms.

Yep. And the ubiquitous cinder blocks, milk crates, and plywood.

Back when people still used landlines, a buddy of mine had a repairman’s phone that attached to a line with alligator clips. He could tap into the dorm’s phone system and make all the long distance calls he wanted.

I have no clue. My FIL drinks the red beast and I drink them like they are free when I'm there. He usually suggests that we go skeet shooting or hog hunting after about #10

Ketchup and potato chip sandwiches.

Hormel chili sandwiches.

Walmart brand kool aid.

Luckily I had a roommate sophomore year who’s parents owned a Chinese restaurant. That ended up being a blessing.

Spaghetti. Tons and tons of spaghetti. I'd make a batch of sauce on a Monday and not have to worry about food until Saturday or Sunday. Pretty much didnt eat breakfast for 3 years. Established a lot of weird habits that piss my ol lady off like watering down hand soap and keeping my hair pretty much buzzed to save on shampoo

Being poor is no good but it sometimes builds character which is good. I don't like being poor though.

Last time I was in Bama I found myself out at 2am standing up in the bed of a jacked up Silverado with a spotlight and an AR15 looking for a problem hog that was "causing issues" on the family property. My wife is lucky that I grew up fairly redneck and love that shite
