Me either, especially after his recent comments about Ferrari cheating. I really don't see Mercedes being a good fit for Max until Hamilton leaves.

I think he will be at Red Bull for the next few years, hope the team keeps improving the cars for him and Albon and they take it to Mercedes and Ferrari over the next few years.

Multiple times. And went to Albon in the paddock to apologize before his interview.

Didn't even go to the stewards and try to defend what he did, just took the penalty because he knew he was wrong.

I think Ham would have kept his mouth shut if he did not have the championship won. He did the right thing in the interview.

Does anyone know when Honda makes its decision to keep making F1 engines?

It would kill Red Bull IMO if they had to go back to another engine supplier.

How fitting for Ferrari to lose both cars at the end, they shite the bed all season.

I haven't heard anything about Honda pulling out. That would be really awkward for Red Bull to have to go back to Renault.

I imagine RBR has a multi year lease with Honda, and Honda would have to pay stiff penalties if they don’t continue to make engines

Supposedly Honda is looking into NASCAR though, possibly at the expense of their INDYCAR and IMSA programs. Not relevant to F1 but would be a big blow to American open wheel and sports car racing to lose Honda.

I rather like Max at RB fighting the Merc and Ferrari machines.

Albon is probably his perfect teammate

Which is sorta the knock against Ham right? He is gracious when it won’t affect him negatively

I mean, Hamilton had passed Gasly and Gasly barely got past him while Ham had a bum wing.

They stretch out the end of the season for way too long. We still have one more race to run, and it's going to be on December 1st? In 2009, the last race was on November 1st, so the season is now roughly a month longer than it was a decade ago. Maybe they need to stop adding additional races, or should can some of the less competitive races.

I think you can blame Bernie for that. He did everything he could to inflate the value as much as possible before he sold. So now Liberty Media's only way to increase revenue is to add races. Hopefully they'll get things back to normal once everyone agrees to the 2021 rules.

Really want to see the 2021 rules do what they're expecting. MotoGP puts out a much more fun package right now. LINK Imagine last lap passes again in F1.

Honda has committed to continue to produce engines for RBR and STR through 2021.

Honda's longer-term commitment to F1 has still not been clarified but it has confirmed it will continue to partner with Red Bull and the energy drinks company's junior team Toro Rosso in 2021.

Grosjean crashing into Bottas in P2. The announcers place some blame on Bottas for not realizing that it was Grosjean that he was trying to pass.

Hamilton with the burn on the Team Radio about Grosjean: “Should have guessed...”

“Team” Ferrari floats another one in the punch bowl. LeClerc only gets one lap in Q3 because he gets stuck behind Seb and doesn’t make it to the line before the red flag.

Ready for this last race, this is the first time I’ve followed F1 and have enjoyed it, ready for the Netflix special to come out.

Looks like Ferrari may already be in trouble, something about Leclerc either has too much or not enough fuel in his car and will have to report to the stewards after the race.

It's the worst of the dedicated racing circuits on the F1 calendar and probably the one that most contributed to Hermann Tilke's reputation. With all the 90° corners, it took me a while to realize that it wasn't a street circuit.

Do we need an off-season thread?

French GP mulling major changes to track layout

quote:

French Grand Prix organisers are considering making major track layout revisions to Paul Ricard in a bid to make it better for Formula 1 racing.

quote:

Speaking exclusively to Motorsport.com about his plan, Boullier said: “I asked what do we need to do? They came back to me with a completely new track layout which was not Paul Ricard at all. It was a new track so a different story! But that was part of the purpose of my request, to find out what could be done.

quote:

While there have been suggestions that the track could be improved by removing the chicane on the back straight, Boullier says that is not an option being considered.
