Is it possible?

This has probably been discussed, but is it possible that what CWW said on tape was all a set up to get guys that the FBI now has? Meaning, he is an FBI informant and he cant talk to LSU or anyone because it would blow his cover? I feel like what the defense released on tape of CWW said was meant to be released on purpose because the FBI wanted it released because Wade is working for them.
Smart has supposedly been cleared by the NCAA etc and has denied receiving any money and if cleared to play today shows that he received nothing which also clears CWW of any wrong doing. The admins wont clear CWW because he wont talk to them but he cant talk to them because hes working for the FBI and the FBI dosnt trust out admins or the NCAA to not let the cat out of the bag.

Even if he is an informant, you think there's a chance in hell anyone would be caught dead discussing improper benefits with Wade again?

Sure. The FBI does stuff like that all the time.
We probably won't know until April or May regardless if Wade has any degree of involvement more than what we already know.

That would be an absolutely amazing slap to the face of the LSU administration.

Maybe.. the offer discussed by itself is a violation.. not that the others have been held accountable...
I hope there is an unusual but positive out come. But I do not see it

Anything is possible.
Is it probable, NO.
Is it likely, Again - NO.
But, keep a happy thought. If CWW wasn't a snitch, about now would be the time to become one.

How often do FBI informants get subpoenaed to trial by the defendant and not the feds?

Watching too much TV lately!

The feds dont want him exposed so they are keeping it close to the vest.
Maybe CWW was caught and the FBI told him that they would protect him and say he is an informant if he testified on for them.

Lol, what?
You have access to transcripts the rest of us haven't seen or are you lying to damage Wade's reputation on Alleva's behalf?
My money is on the latter.

1. Feds fought the admission of their own wiretap
2. even crazier if they caught their own snitch inadvertently on a wire tap
3. Dawkins is a defendant, so he wasn't a snitch entrapping coaches.
Occum's Razor: Dawkins was wire tapped and Wade was talking to him as a normal course of business.
I will say this, I interpreted the key lines of that transcript as Wade offering Dawkins money with the implied understanding that Dawkins would pass what money was necessary to get Balsa to LSU (and keep the rest).
The problem is, it's subject to interpretation. Most of the interpretations are violations. Very few interpretations lead to no violations.
One of the few is that Wade was simply paying Dawkins for his services and a "finder's fee" or some BS and that he thought none of that money would make it to a recruit(s).
eh, could make that case.... but not easily (assuming there's nothing else out there- which there is).

"the offer discussed by itself is a violation"
What offer? What, exactly did he offer? To whom did he offer this? Where is there any proof that an offer was in fact made? If all you have is Wade talking to someone about a supposed offer that was made to someone else and THAT person denies it ever being made you don't have proof of anything do you? If the wiretap caught Wade making an offer to Smart, THAT would be proof. Wade talking to Dawkins and mentioning an offer to Smart is not proof because Wade might have been lying to Dawkins for a reason. How do we know that Wade wasn't aware that he was being wire tapped and was doing what the FBI asked him to do in order to entrap Dawkins into discussing "offers" that Dawkins might have been involved in?
The point is that currently, we don't know shite and neither does the LSU administration or the NCAA as to what was going on. Yet, here we are, losing the best basketball coach we've had in a long, long time and totally fricking our basketball team at a time when they need our support more than ever.
The Yahoo article was nothing more than a fart. The inept bastards running LSU have turned that fart into a steaming pile of shite. It's not going to get cleaned up soon and the smell with be with us for a long, long time.

Yahoo Sports was first to report on Wade discussing an “offer” on federal wiretaps.
On part of the call, Wade is frustrated that the “offer” had yet to be accepted by a third party affiliated with the recruitment.
Wade believed the third party hadn’t been given a big “enough piece of the pie in the deal.” Instead, the deal was more “tilted” toward the player and his mother.
“I was thinking last night on this Smart thing,” Wade said. “I’ll be honest with you, I’m [expletive] tired of dealing with the thing. Like I’m just [expletive] sick of dealing with the [expletive]. Like, this should not be that [expletive] complicated.”
The “Smart thing” is believed to be in reference to Javonte Smart, a top-50 recruit out of Baton Rouge.
“It was a [expletive] hell of a [expletive] offer,” Wade says to Dawkins. “Hell of an offer. Especially for a kid who is going to be a two- or three-year kid.”
The tape does not offer any specifics of the “offer.”
However, ESPN reported that, in a different call with Dawkins, Wade joked that the player would be compensated more than the “rookie minimum.”
Bolder part is what gets me
Why does Yahoo reference what was said instead of direct quotes?
Because they know the word “offer” means a billion different things
ESPN referencing rookie minimum is BS, either provide proof or don’t insinuate it
I may be naive or just frickin stupid but rookie minimum is over 800k
I just don’t see LSU compensating 1 kid that much
TLDR
Damming evidence is not evidence, it’s referenced in media reports
Wades words on tap are not damming in the least
