The GOP is afraid of BETO. Why else are they targeting before he announces.

Beto is a lightweight.

This is either a dumb attempt to kill a weak candidate, or a foolish attempt to build him up.

I see it more as he’s an easy target and going after him is an easy way to start the fighting between democratic voters. Not only is he an easy target, but it’s “ok” to go after him early and hard because he’s a fricking white male. No one can claim that they’re being racist or misogynist, especially since the ad seems to paint Obama so favorably and stand up for women against Beto. It’s actually a brilliant, sophisticated troll piece that hits Beto hard and gets the dems fighting.

They should be. As almost a complete unknown in 2018 he came within a whisker of beating "Lyin' Ted", who's quite popular in conservative circles in Texas.
