You were better after 48 hrs because you had the vaccination.
The Tamiflu had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Tamiflu MIGHT make you feel a touch better during your sickness and it MIGHT decrease your symptoms by 12-24hrs at the most.

My doctor said he would never take the flu shot.

What backwoods doctor do you go to who doesn’t have to get a flu shot?

I know a neurologist that doesn’t take it, you know because of the Guillian Barre thing and all...

Swabbed positive for type A today. Never had it my entire life, now this is the second year in a row I’ve gotten it. It seems to be getting more widespread lately. My 14 month old had the first half of the vaccine. Hope she doesn’t get it. Day 2 of fever, felt a little better than yesterday but still achy.

I don’t understand the thinking of people who don’t take the flu vaccine every year. Even if the CDC misses the strain that’s going around (which seldom happens), your body is still better equipped to deal with it than those who don’t get vaccinated.

Also, those people who get a flu shot every year will be much more resistant to a deadly new bird flu strain than those who don’t get vaccinated. The body builds up a great resistance to all strains of influenza via regular vaccinations.

On what basis? I got the flu shot 4 times and those were THE only years I caught the flu. No more shots for me.

I never get the flu shot ever.... I can't tell the difference between the flu and a regular cold. I'm dead serious.

New flu drug I’ve been prescribing xofluza, 2 pills x 1 dose.... people have been feeling lots better within 2 days

I’ve been exposed to thousands of flu cases in my career, right now at least 20 per day, not as bad as last year... never had the flu

I haven't been to work since last Tuesday....pisses me off to think I used PTO days to lay on the damn couch feeling like shite.

Have to say, for a 36-hour stretch, I didn't get out of bed for anything but to piss and quickly take more meds....probably the first time in my life I have gone nearly two days without a single bite of food!

Feeling better now and probably going to head in to work tomorrow. I still feel weak as hell and hope to make it without taking off any more time.

I feel like I’m dying right now. I think it’s strep and not flu, but it could be flu because my wife and 5 year old just kicked it

Is throat pain your number one complaint and do you not have a cough? If so, might be strep.

If you’re aching, feverish, possible runny nose, and feel like someone or something beat the shite out of you, then it’s likely flu.

Having two people in your household who recently tested positive for the flu and given that you’re older than 15, it’s likely flu and not strep. Even more so if you’re over 44.

Yea all the signs point to flu, but I’ve had strep 2 times in the last 2 years and it feels EXACTLY like the flu except my throat is on fire.

ETA: went to the Urgent Care this morning. Strep it is.

Have a friend whose is a RN in Lafayette. She said it’s going around bad in Louisiana.

Also, Louisiana is one of the top states in the USA for infectious diseases.

A friend of mine that’s a doctor told me it’s because on average we have more diarrhea than other states.

Yep, got the flu about a month ago....legit stayed in bed for 5 days straight. Had no energy, couldn't sleep at night since I would get hot and then cold and hot and cold. Only ate about 2 meals that week.

I thought it was worse than getting food poisoning since food poisoning comes fast and hard but u get over it within a day.....this flu long lasting crap was absolute terrible. Took over a week to get through.

Alright boys, checking in. Fever, chills and the soreness has reached my knuckles. Haven’t been to the doctor yet but I think it’s official.

My experience exactly. Tonight was my first legit attempt to eat...have to say, it tasted pretty damn good, too!
