and can't win. Had they taken the time to do their own careful investigation looking at all the facts, considering if NCAA involved, evaluating other investigation (FBI), instead of relying on a Yahoo report, they would have been viewed with a different lens. You are innocent until proven guilty, and perhaps Wade did indeed step over the line. But, we rely on a Yahoo report?

Just recall, it also looked very black and white for Duke lacrosse, but we found out later, "yellow journalism" raised its ugly head.

Just saying....they should have made a statement that they are looking into the matter, not make the rash decision. Now, they can't win...they have painted themselves in a corner. They had better hope their accusations are correct, if so, good decision. If they are wrong, how does Wade ever trust them again. But, for now, we just don't know.

This assumes King and Alleva aren’t shite bags who only care about their own image. That’s a terrible assumption.

Step 1 of that was asking Wade what’s up. Wade didn’t answer. So he and the player in question are suspended immediately, as well he should be.

Easy and obvious decision.

Nothing to do with this. Wade refused to talk to his boss as offer him an explanation for this.

They tried looking into the matter, but Wade didn’t cooperate. Nothing about this decision was rash at all.

Other way around.

You hit the nail on the head. Both men are leacherous slimey bastards who care only about what they can do for themselves. If the powers that be don’t use this to get rid of both of them, then LSU will deserve what they get.

Oh, I’m sorry. The powers that be include John Bel Edwards. WE ARE frickED!

Stop. It’s obvious that this is what happened and it’s obvious why. Each party involved would be stupid to have acted any other way so far.

Okay, how would they investigate? For starters they would talk to Wade, right? Well, they tried, AND WADE REFUSED TO TALK TO THEM.

Now, what should they have done after Wade refused to talk?

They’ve known all this since October. It got rehashed by Yahoo and the ESPN talking heads went on a virtue signaling tirade and Alleva folded like a cuck. Don’t pretend that Alleva and King were in the dark on this.

The suspend him for not talking to his boss sh!t, or insubordination, is just dumb. Joe and F both know how the legal system works. They were well aware that Wade could not/would not talk to them at this point in them regarding this matter.

Over and above that, in their own statement, joe and F both acknowledged knowing about this “months” earlier. If they were to begin an internal investigation, or suspend someone, why not do it then?

Joe and F are trying to play the CYA game, and they are awful at it. You defend your employee until he is proven guilty. And if he is found guilty, you fire his arse on the spot.

Wade has more leverage/power than this board or the media realize.

All those coaches in the "brotherhood" who supposedly hate him are not sleeping well these days and probably won't for some time.

If Wade decides to sing, it's all over for all the bluebloods. Not just LSU. Perhaps even the NCAA wouldn't survive it if enough is exposed.

It's a different perspective than I've seen discussed, but the way I see it is accurate.

If Wade goes down, they all go down.

Lots of coaches (supposedly) have major incentive to get those 1-800-Flowers orders placed complete with apology letters, and sent to the Wade home.

Only two options: 1) fire him 2) keep rolling

That’s it. Suspending does nothing. Optics only.

I think Joe and by association FKing got a dose of reality that maybe they were too obtuse to realize before. They live and work here not Bristol, Connecticut.

They had plausible deniability since October. Plausible deniability is gone now.

There was no real threat of trouble in October. The threat is real now. It was on Wade to assuage that possibility, and he failed to do so this week, so he can’t do the job until he does so.

Are you sure LSU has not done more investigation? Do you know that LSU has not been presented with any additional evidence by the FBI or NCAA?

If either Snart or Coach Wade would just make 1 definitive public statement, such as "my (or J Smart's) recruiting was highly competitive, but LSU ar no time made offers that are against NCAA recruiting rules. To the best of my knowledge their was no payment or other benefits offered to me or my family by LSU, coach Wade or anyone associated with LSU"

That's all it would take. But neither has done that and Wade is operating under attorney's guidance to not speak with his boss. So, boss has few options and did what he HAD to do to protect LSU... his job.

Alleva is not a bad guy here. Sorry to all those that disagree, but any decent AD has no other choice in this situation.

If cleared, he has every opportunity to welcome Wade back with open arms and it is put in the rearview mirror, hopefully by both.

From who? Dick Vitale? You don’t make decisions because of the media. Suspending Wade did nothing. You either fire him or roll with it. As always Alleva thinks optics matter.

Obvious how? Because Alleva said so?

they usually get fired. It's obvious LSU would like to salvage Wade.
