Curious, how good was the offer?

Wade firmly believed he had a winning offer.
What would have Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. paid for a Top-50 player?

Where is the money coming from is the question? There has to be some pretty nervous bag men right now I would imagine.

I wonder if any of those coaches pay out their own pocket? A big season means a lot to coach financially.

You ever been to a mtg where they pass the hat around and peeps put in lots of cash? That’s a start.

Could this be the OLOL foundation scandal connection floated around here a few months ago?

NBA rookie minimum is $830k, so according to Wade, it was better than that.
[I doubt it was as Wade was exasperated, but I think we can clearly infer there was money changing hands.]

The offer was dramatically more playing time and spotlight than Duke, Kansas, or Kentucky could offer. Likely also somethig something about NBA prep and being closer to mama.

I cannot fathom any college player in any sport getting this much money -- several thousand or tens of thousands ok but not this. I'm thinking he was talking about the player/recruit staying long enough to make better than the league minimum once he went to the draft.
I call BS on any player getting paid $830K. Maybe I'm just dumb.

Someone has to hold the cash though and deliver it.

ESPN guys seem to think players are getting paid routinely. Marcus Spears knows.

I wonder if anyone got more than Tua's family with their new house or whatever Nicky thought they were worth?
