This is exactly what I think happened, and something I pointed out to someone last night who as suggesting that Wade's attorney's not allowing him to speak to LSU was evidence of his guilt.
The legal process is always complicated, even for the innocent.
He already spoke to them after the 1st wiretaps were leaked. He told them there wasn't anything more to it.
So now the 2nd leaks come out, and all of a sudden its a "legal" matter for the Wade party to speak with them, and has nothing to do with him lying to LSU admins? lol ok

that's due to the subpoena, which they knew about already

As slowflowpro just pointed out, he had not been subpoenaed before. And this is basically the same type of conversation as before, where he's talking about a deal or " I can get you what you need", and neither time are there any specifics. But now that he has to go to court, he's going to be on record, and you don't know who's going to use what against you.
