I would assume LSU spoke with Wade’s attorney after the story was released, he said he wasn’t producing his client for reasons related to the subpoena and the administration then used that as the crutch to publicly demonstrate some form of weak action.
Weak
Bingo.
This is exactly what I think happened, and something I pointed out to someone last night who as suggesting that Wade's attorney's not allowing him to speak to LSU was evidence of his guilt.
The legal process is always complicated, even for the innocent. There are sharks out there looking to make big money off of people, by slandering them any way they can. You have to be very careful what you say, and that is presumably why Wade's lawyers said no to LSU.

no good whatsoever if he's guilty, which is all the more likely since he declined the meeting.
how do you let him coach after that?

Do you really believe that the higher ups at LSU were oblivious to Wades “shady” recruiting tactics? They absolutely knew what was going on and probably green lit the deals.

He already spoke to them after the 1st wiretaps were leaked. He told them there wasn't anything more to it.
So now the 2nd leaks come out, and all of a sudden its a "legal" matter for the Wade party to speak with them, and has nothing to do with him lying to LSU admins? lol ok

that's due to the subpoena, which they knew about already

Again, innocent people are always advised not to talk until there is a plan of attack. Prosecuters, much like defense attorney's, are often less concerned with justice, as they are with proving that they are right, and the other side is wrong. So they can twist anything you say that isn't carefully worded.
This should be common knowledge, regardless of what facts come out. It's not uncommon in the least for lawyers to tell their clients to zip it.

He didn’t,what Wade did was refuse to again have a meeting that he’s had multiple times with King and Alleva since early October.

No, it's because he's on tape discussing some shady shite, and will not talk to his supervisor about it.
100%
Not an Alleva fan but besides working to file a ‘cease and desist’ with yahoo sports, this has not been mishandled.

and people are confused on why he isnt being allowed to coach

he's subpoenaed as a witness in a trial coming up. this leak was almost assuredly done by the lawyers who subpoenaed him. there is no privilege b/w Wade and the admin, so it could open an evidentiary can of worms if he speaks with them about a factual scenario he's subpoenaed on.
the admin knew this. that's why they cowardly leaked this to SI instead of saying it themselves. it was a set up scenario

Their duty is to protect the school, not Will Wade
Oh and Alleva and King don’t make decisions based on what’s best for the school. There is literally no evidence to suggest they ever have. Those two idiots care about one thing, and that’s their own vanity.

When parents ask their child to put their plate in the sink then the kids puts the plate in the sink
When a coach tells a player to take a lap around the field the the player takes a lap around the field
When a police officer put his siren on this means pull over and respect the police officer
WHEN THE BOSS says meet me in my office then you meet him in the office
This has nothing to do what Wade wants, if people do not follow simple society protocol and obey the person in charge then there will be a total break down in society.
The writing is on the wall to see and most won't like it but Wade will end up no longer coaching for LSU and Alleva has no choice.

not only have they spoken but Alleva and Dawkins camp have spoken as well.

As slowflowpro just pointed out, he had not been subpoenaed before. And this is basically the same type of conversation as before, where he's talking about a deal or " I can get you what you need", and neither time are there any specifics. But now that he has to go to court, he's going to be on record, and you don't know who's going to use what against you.

No big deal, Saban has been doing it since he has been at BAMA!!!

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to explain to me how anything I just said brought you to that conclusion.
Is he going to perjure himself coaching a game? You're not making any sense.

so is it illegal to speak as an employee of LSU, to LSU admins about things directly tied to the university because he is subpoenaed?

This isn't complicated. No, it is not illegal. No one is saying it would be illegal. You're missing the point.
Wade and his lawyers have to be prepared for the POSSIBILITY that the administration will throw him under the bus to save their own skin. So Wade can't give them anything that they could possibly twist and use against him, if they should pursue firing him.
I really, really hope that they won't fire him after this "investigation", but Wade's lawyers can't pretend it isn't a possibility.
