There are no tiebreakers. So will both teams claim the ship?

We all know by now that the regular season SEC championship can be shared.

Let’s say we finish tied with UTk. Will we still claim it and hang a banner? Serious question since we’re not usually in this position.

Why would we not claim it? Your question might be more logical if they owned the tiebreaker, but they don’t. So not sure what you are getting at.

I absolutely think we should claim it because if there were a tiebreaker we would own it.

I was just genuinely ignorant since there’s no official tiebreaker.

Kentucky doesn’t matter only Tennessee. Rooting hard for Auburn Saturday!

Again, why would LSU not claim a championship it earned? What’s the argument against it? Not sure I understand.

Exactly. Nobody gives a shite who's #1 until the end. It doesn't matter

Absolutely both teams would claim it. Why wouldn’t they?

A “message board” argument could be made that it would be a tad embarrassing for UT to hang it knowing they lost to LSU, but they should and will still claim it. It’s a legit SEC title per the current rules and format. It goes down in the history books as a championship, all schools would claim it no questions asked.

Everytime you have an opportunity to add a legitimate accolade to your program’s history, of course you claim it.

All that said, as far as “water cooler talk” goes, I think it will be absolutely acceptable for LSU fans to feel that they’ve basically won an outright championship given everyone’s ingrained common sense, practical tiebreakers that everyone has come to know over the years (head-to-Head).

I think Aub will beat Tenn and LSU will beat Vandy... therefore I think LSU can win the SEC by beating Florida tomorrow night.

If we win the title, we will receive a trophy that says "SEC Champions". If UT has the same SEC record, they will get an exact same trophy and we will be both listed officially as SEC Champions. Winning the regular season schedule of 18 games is officially the SEC title. The tournament champ gets a trophy that says they are SEC Ty champs. NO trophies or banner will say co-Champions.

Let's just beat UF.
