Highest ranking since being ranked #9 in December of the 2006-2007 season.

LSU was ranked #5 preseason in 2006-2007.

#3 at the end of the 2006 final four.

I think there’s a better chance of Auburn beating Tennessee in Auburn. That game is earlier in the day. Auburn takes down Tennessee, LSU drops the SEC Champions banner as time runs down against Vanderbilt.
