Here's my thing. The highlight of that play is getting a steal up 3 with 45 seconds left. That's the biggest part of the play, how you score the 2 points resulting from it is secondary. By going for an ally off the backboard you are risking something going wrong, however slight that risk is. It's unnecessary. You already made the pivotal play, don't waste it.

Fundamentally yes.

But that’s the nature of this team. They are confident, aggressive, and have fun.
I think it’s helped them win so many close games.
They don’t tighten up.

It's a statement, team camaraderie, swag decision.

That has value as well, even if not fundamentally sound.

If Bama didn't jack up a couple of 3s to make it closer, that would have been the ending message.

Yet, LSU went right back to fundamentals hitting 6-6 FTs in last 30 seconds to seal it.

I personally thought it was awesome.

This is 100% true. You’re getting grief from the sorry-for-partying crowd, but winning should trump everything.
